GDEALER DT09 Waterproof Thermometer Calibration Review

It's very handy. It works well and is waterproof, not to mention it has a magnet. The only thing I would like is a button that lets you extend and retract it, like car keys. In any case, the battery required is NOT a CR2 battery as stated in the product description. This is CR2032. For this reason I have bought CR2 batteries to no avail which cannot be returned to Revain.

Instant read thermometer is great for grilling/smoking and especially cooking in the kitchen. I accidentally left the device outside when I was done smoking and it rained that evening. I thought the device was destroyed when the probe was deployed and the device turned on. The next day, to my surprise, the device turned off automatically and worked without any problems when I turned it on.

I love this thermometer! Once my grill is up and running, I always worry if the food is being cooked well enough. I've tried fancy fork thermometers in the past, but they don't last long and are awkward to store. I sized this one up, it has a chart printed on it, and the magnetic backing made it a winner. I was right. I was able to cook the meat perfectly to the level I wanted, it's easy to wash and convenient to store. There was even a spare battery included.

Bought this thermometer because it was advertised as "waterproof". Well I washed mine with water several times now the display is hard to read. Update: The seller contacted me and quickly sent me another thermometer. I wanted to try it out a few times and wash it a few times before updating my review. It appears that the previous problem was not water related and may have been a faulty thermometer. I want to thank Global Dealer for supporting their product without asking me!

This thermometer is more expensive. The difference is a lighter and cheaper box, but you get the same tooling, same specs, same features, and a few cosmetic changes. You also get an extra button cell battery. I ordered several at different prices for my relatives and found out. I had to replace my old immersion and readout thermometer made of stainless steel that was dusty. I tried this fold (the fold turns on and off) LIGHT RED plastic. and I still use it years later. This gives a perfect reading. although it's still up to you to put the probe in the right part of your flesh. And if you press the right button. it lights up with an LED. This thermometer works well. It came with batteries and was ready to use. It's beautifully designed with a probe that pops out of the thermometer and the probe folds back into the thermometer when used to turn it off. The temperature registers within seconds and appears to be accurate as far as I can tell. After using this thermometer for the first time, I washed it and let it dry. What I didn't understand is that it doesn't seem to turn itself off unless you move the needle to the closed position. The next day I tried to use it again and it wouldn't turn on. It's ok I thought I was just draining the coin cell battery although it wasn't clear how the auto off function works but still.
