Great for Heavy Bag Use

I've been doing boxing workouts, plus training for most of my life. When I first got into it, I ended up with a fractured hand from not taking better precautions. So aside from good hand wrapping, I need gloves that will be shock-absorbing and durable. For years, I always stuck to Everlast gloves. But gave these a chance they have a special gel injected in the gloves around the knuckles area. So now I have some extra protection when working out on the heavier bags we have.Other than that…

Pros
  • Good product. I use them twice a week. They don't smell yet and past sets of gloves would stink by now.
Cons
  • These gloves are very hard to make a fist in and are for someone with very small hands.

Ringside Gel Shock Boxing Super Bag Gloves (Large)

I love these gloves, the comfort and quality are great. They do come kind of stiff and fit small for being a large but I have average to small hands so it's not a big deal for me. I highly recommend these.UPDATE May 10, 2013 - I have used these for heavy duty bag work a few times now and they are breaking in very nicely. Still agree with my original review above.

Pros
  • Very good product. The glove padding is nice and firm with excellent breathing. Excellent gloves. 😀👍
Cons
  • The gloves are too bulky and make it difficult to move quickly

Float like a butterfly, sting like a jellyfish

This is a nice set of gloves. My son has a punching bag hanging in the garage, and I got these to see how they'd work out (haha). They're good gloves for bag work. They're filled with gel. Theoretically that will hold up over the long term better than foam. I guess we will have to see!Can it absorb a hard punch? Don't ask me, I'm the 57-year-old mom! But my son can hit pretty hard (I know from observation) and he says these gloves are good. The wrist elastic and the Velcro give you a good…

Pros
  • The elastic wrist band provides additional support.
Cons
  • The gel padding is too hard and hurts your hands

Im a 5'5 130 lb girl and the "regular " size .

Im a 5'5 130 lb girl and the "regular" size were way too small. I couldnt even make a fist without wraps on let alone fit the glove on my hand with wraps on. I should have listened to the other reviews about how insanely tiny these are. Definitely returning these. I don't think Ill get the "large" size either because even 2 oz difference wouldnt be enough to fit my hands in these with wraps on.

Pros
  • Great gloves for price
Cons
  • These gloves are just too small for an average sized, male adult's hands.

Scrappy but a little tight.

Comfortable and scrappy. They were a little tight to begin with but I still need to break them in. Happy with them for now.

Pros
  • nice padding and straps. Still no obvious wear-and-tear after months of use.
Cons
  • They are not adjustable and don't fit all hand sizes

Best quality vs. price glove!

Very nice! Twice as thick padding as my cheapie Everlast starters, and really good elastic wrist strap that you can pull tight. I got the regular size and it fits good for my 3.5" across palm size. Not sure about durability yet, but so far I like them. Very well thought out product. Leather on the punching side, synthetic elsewhere. The thumb is locked to glove, so it's slightly difficult to pull the wrist strap on your second hand, but doable.

Pros
  • Moisture-Wicking Technology
Cons
  • They are not very suitable for outdoor training in extreme weather conditions

Great gloves for beginners and great price

Great gloves for beginners. Good for heavy bag, mitts, and sparring.Gel shock makes it easier on the hands. Always wear wraps when using.

Pros
  • Made from high-quality materials that are built to last, these gloves offer unparalleled durability, whether you're using them for sparring or heavy bag training
Cons
  • The gloves are not recommended for people with sensitive skin

The gel is really heavy. They fit my hands .

The gel is really heavy. They fit my hands very awkwardly, and one fit slightly differently than the other and I was unable to adjust it to balance them out. I do not use them.

Pros
  • The gloves have good hand protection and wrist support but have a very snug fit
Cons
  • Didn't like

Just What I Needed in my review

The Bag Gloves are perfect. A nice woman I spoke to at Ringside recommended the gloves after I asked how I could soften my Ringside heavy bag. Before talking to her, I trained with the old-style bag gloves and the bag felt very hard. I did not want to go through the trouble of taping my hands and wrists before each heavy bag workout. The Ringside bag gloves are perfect. I can hit the heavy bag "full power" without hurting my hands. They are also designed in a way that forces you to hit the bag…

Pros
  • Value For Money
Cons
  • The gloves are not very stylish and look too plain

Review from a novice

Prior to using these gloves, I had been using padded training gloves that came with my bag set. Let's just say that I tore up my hands. With these, not only do I have full protection (with hand wraps on the inside of course), but they're very comfortable and vent quickly. I've been using them for about 2 months now a few times a week and haven't had any problems. As a side note, I would recommend to anyone setting up a punching bag in their basement (by attaching to rafters) to purchase a heavy…

Pros
  • Love them! So comfy.
Cons
  • The gloves tend to slip off during training

Great brand gloves in my review

Good bag gloves all leather made. Never used the gel shock gloves before hopefully they will last a year. They are not very stylish and look outdated.

Nice padding good for me

After reading many reviews on various boxing gloves I decided on the Ringside Gel Shock Boxing Gloves. I bought for working out with a heavy bag and the gloves are comfortable and provide a lot of protection to your hands. Easy to put on and off. Spend the extra $20 over a entry pair of gloves and you won't regret.

Pros
  • Leather striking surface and synthetic palm outer shell
Cons
  • They don't come with a storage case or bag

Fits like a glove - my new review

Not that's not sarcasm -- these ringside gel shock boxing super gel gloves fit my hand beautifully. It's almost like a custom fit. Sliide my hand in, curl the fingers, appreciate the way the hand curls into position, tighten the Velcro wrist bands, and start punching.Unlike my other Ringside gloves-- these Gel Shock gloves absorb the punch. No bouncing off, no "going through" your target -- just a solid "THUD" of connection -- it's like the brakes were put on and everything…

Pros
  • Boxing
Cons
  • They are not very versatile and can only be used for boxing

Gloves ripped in three months.

These were the best gloves ever! Except both gloves ripped at the thumb at the same time. They were only 3 months old. That tells me either bad product or defective run. They'd get 5 stars but for the price I paid I expected a decent life. I'm waiting to see how Ringside decides to handle it. Honestly, if they can prove it's a bad batch, I'll change this to a 4 or a 5.Update: I called the vendor and they were happy to swap out with another set and they did it promptly. I've been using them for…

Pros
  • Bag Gloves
Cons
  • They are not suitable for sparring

After three years of heavy bag work and hitting the pads, I can comfortably say these babies held up VERY well. And I'm honestly surprised how well they've stayed intact. Is there a little bit of fraying and material slowly coming apart at the seams? Sure. But again, after three years of some pretty good training, the damage is more-so cosmetic than anything that would hinder performance. Which is pretty darn good. Why 4 stars instead of 5? I guess it's just personal preference. The top-heavy…

Pros
  • ‎Ambidextrous
Cons
  • The gloves tend to lose their shape after repeated use

amazing gloves, perfect fit !

amazing gloves, it have a perfect fit, no free space inside, you have a great feel in your hands, definitely I'll buy this again when I need to

Pros
  • The gloves feature a non-slip grip technology that ensures a solid grasp on your training equipment, allowing you to deliver your punches with greater accuracy and precision
Cons
  • The gloves tend to slip on sweaty hands, which can cause injuries

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not the best for my opinion

These gloves run small and just not breaking in. Gloves are lacking in padding. They are flat across the knuckles despite all attempts to break in. Disappointing as I have had Ringside gloves before that were great.

Pros
  • ‎16 x 7 x 5 inches
Cons
  • The gloves tend to smell bad after prolonged use

Practicing martial arts as a student, I have numerous punching bags or training bags. I also have a few different types of gloves depending upon the techniques that I wish to practice (foam sparring gloves, boxing gloves, open fingered MMA gloves, and bag gloves). This is a set of closed boxing gloves that has a unique design. It is made to help reduce injury and fatigue with respect to punching a heavy bag.For a beginner or intermediate level trainer, I find this set of gloves to be excellent,

Pros
  • ‎Leather
Cons
  • The gloves are not compatible with hand wraps

Very tight fitting.

Very tight fitting. They are comfortable so far but do not fit as well the last pair of Ringside Bag gloves I bought. It's almost as if they are for a junior or teen. Too bad I was a big fan of ringside. Their gear was for the serious Boxer/Martial artist. I had my last pair of 16oz bag gloves for over ten years. It was finally the nonuses that did them in. I won't give up on them though. I'll try one other pair of higher end bag gloves from them . I'm sure these where just a fluke or a…

Pros
  • Great, and very comfortable.
Cons
  • They are not very durable and wear out quickly

Comparing to these, calling them Reds. They're L/XLs.https://www.amazon.com/Ringside-Gloves-Black-Large-X-Large/dp/B01MS4SA4T?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_dpThe ones for this listing I'll call Blues. They're Large- Fit: Blues have substantially more room inside, but are still on the small side. I can at least use them with wraps, where I can't for the Reds.Padding: Both are good for their different weights.Wrist alignment: I like the Reds better for that. The Blues feel like they tilt me a little…

Pros
  • ‎1.9 Pounds
Cons
  • The gel padding can shift around and become uncomfortable during training
