Excellent charcoal pencil

I like the charcoal pencil; Easy to use. I prefer a charcoal pencil. However, I have trouble sharpening them to the right point so they don't break in use. However, the price is good and I like the product, so I will buy it again.

Pastel Pencils

I'm new to pastels. I wanted them to add detail to my pastel drawings. As mentioned, they need to be sharpened with sandpaper (I use an Emory board). I didn't use a pencil sharpener but I can see how easily it will break them. I would like to mention that the reason for removing the star is because some pencils have very hard chalk. I have to press really hard to use them and they leave ridges on the paper. For me this is a big shortcoming. I was hoping that soft chalk would work with my…

Soft enough for deep black shading but hard enough for fine detail

General 6B Super soft charcoals produce very deep, rich blacks, but you can get a good range on the darker side of the gray scale. with them too. I love the feel of these pens as they glide across soft textured paper. You can mix and match them for many beautiful painterly effects, but they also allow you to create bold, sharp lines and darker details. I want box 12 now! The two I bought are quite small.
