    Heavy duty but limited

I recently lost some weight and bought this to add a hole in some of my straps. The rubber grip is excellent, the thing is well made and definitely made for heavy use. Had no problem punching holes through regular straps. However, I have made two real leather ones in Texas. I had to punch through both sides to get the hole. Was a little disappointed but works well.

    • The cord is shorter than other picks

    Worth the money

I was a bit hesitant due to some negative reviews but I was impressed. It costs money. I got the Heavy Duty and was glad it was actually "Heavy Mode". Is stable in the hand and has a certain weight. There are different sizes to choose from when using. I was able to use this with 2.4-5 ounce pieces of leather SAVED with no problem! These are 8-10 ounces of leather that he pierces easily and without fail. I would say that for this price it is very cool.

    Very good product. good price.

very impressive. definitely recommend. I always feel like I need a hole between the existing holes on every belt I buy. One way is too narrow. The other way is just too loose. I ended up buying a hole punch. bought this one because the "heavy" version wasn't much more expensive. Excellent value for money and quality. When I got it I took it out of the box and punched the hole I needed in a thick leather belt that I use every day and now it fits perfectly. until I lose or gain, ha :)

Better than others of this type, satisfied

Don't know why others had problems. I've been using this type of punch for 30 years and it works really well. I like to press until the stamp pops out of the skin, then rotate the piece around the stamp while the die is still closed to make a full cut. This instrument is of higher quality than many others of its kind. Very strong grip when turning the punch. Buy with confidence. If you've never used this type of tool before, it will take a little time to learn, but after a few tries, it's very…

Great little tool! Excellent value for money and quality.

Excellent product. Should have bought 20 years ago. I do not know what the complainants mean. Mine cuts very cleanly with a nice clicking sound as it pierces the skin. I use it for belts. Looks just as good as the original holes and just as good as a cobbler. The edges of the stamp should be fairly sharp. I have 12 dollars. Maybe with cheaper problems more. A tip: experiment with the area that is hidden. The holes are smaller than I thought this setting would make. I had to resize the stamp…

Cuts through thick leather like butter

I bought this to put holes in my Birkenstock leather straps. The smallest hole is still the next size larger than the original tag holes, but it's close enough. I have a few tags and I've added a dozen holes underneath. It's easy to level and poke a hole in the skin. To clean cut leather from a hollow hole punch tube, simply rotate the hole punch to the other side of the wheel and insert the skewer through the hole to push the leather out the other end. You don't really have to clean it, but I…

Cheap Chinese product that may or may not work

So this is my second punch of this model that I am buying as my first one broke after many months of hard use. I can say that I got my money's worth the first time. So I decided to buy a second one to replace the broken first one. You can tell right away that the head was misaligned and just felt cheap. I tried punching holes but the material didn't go all the way through. He would have hit midway but not in the second half. Very frustrating. I had to punch the rest of the hole through the…

VERY USEFUL gadget - personalize bags and belts. Saves $$$

It gets 4 stars for sheer utility for the intended use it can and will receive. the time I use it. I bought it to do two things: to make an extra, professional looking hole in the strap, and to lengthen or shorten the strap of my fairly large collection of bags, both new and vintage. with an awl, and the results were horribly homemade with torn edges. An old-fashioned shoemaker can do it, but such specialists are becoming harder and harder to find, and the price is more than I'm willing to pay.

    Pros
    • Consistent test results
    Cons
    • Could have opted for a newer model
