2002 Corolla LE - Controls

Installation was a little difficult due to limited space to remove screw. I would recommend a 17mm x 19mm ratchet wrench, it makes the job easier. You will also need a 12mm wrench to loosen the nut. So far nothing rattles after replacement.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Bushing required

Tensioner Arrived Quickly

The tensioner was just what was needed for the Toyota Matrix 08 which had had some previous belt slip issues. A new tensioner and the installation of a new V-ribbed belt solved the occasional problem. This should allow the car to go another 70,000 miles. Many Thanks

INSTALLATION OF LAVASH in spare parts

WOW, WHAT INSTALLATION OF LAVASH. LIMITED SPACE ON MY TOYOTA CORROLA TO REMOVE THE OLD AND NEW BELT DRIVE. BUT WHEN I INSTALLED THIS PART, I DEFLATED THE SPRING ACTION PISTON. GENERALLY, THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF THE JOB WAS INSTALLING THE BELT, A WORK FOR TWO PEOPLE. BUT I'M SATISFIED WITH THE BELT DRIVE. 5 STARS, NO DOUBT.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • There is trouble

My 2003 Corolla has a rattling noise.

My 2003 Corolla had a rattling noise coming from the engine bay, especially at idle or when reversing. Upon investigating the problem, I learned that the belt tensioner was a common cause. I swapped the old belt tensioner for this one and the noise is gone. Hooray. The new part I received was made in Slovakia and turned out to be a genuine Toyota part.

  • Amazing

Good tensioner in spare parts

I installed this tensioner on a 2005 Toyota Matrix. Installation is a bit fiddly. I used a YouTube video that explains how to remove the motor mount and move the motor to make room to remove the bolt holding the belt tensioner in place. Once you get past the obstacle with a bolt, the rest of the process is easy. I've had this part installed for the last few months and it works flawlessly.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Minor flaws

Genuine Pontiac Vibe part

Genuine part conforms to original equipment in form, fit and function. Calms the rattling of the V-belt. Has the same markings as the original on the '08 Pontiac Vibe. Installation on this attachment is a little tricky as there is a body screw in the way. I haven't seen any other way to remove them without lifting the engine. Alternatively, the hydraulic tensioner could simply be swapped out to ease installation.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine
