My son is 12 years old, tall and thin with long arms. Due to his long torso and long arms, I ordered plus sizes so he doesn't get too short. My 5 year old really liked this jacket. Of course we live in North Florida so we don't have to deal with snow but we've had a few cold days where the weather has dropped below 30 and this jacket was perfect. These were the perfect neutrals and of course my cheater loves the hood. I always go up a size for two seasons simply because he doesn't wear it that often. The material feels very durable, the hood and center panel are lined with very soft faux fur and it is thick enough to wear in rain, sleet, snow or hail and keep the wearer warm and dry. I'm so glad I chose this coat for my son this winter. He is 7 years old about 4ft 58lbs and I bought him a size 8 which fits just as I expected. The coat can be machine washed and dried upright.

This is a high quality down jacket. I was a little surprised by the quality. It is windproof and water-repellent. Has a soft and warm lining. The zipper is of good quality, the child opens it easily. It's getting colder and our son needs a new winter coat for this year. This is a nice warm coat that my son enjoys wearing. He loves how soft it is on the inside and hasn't complained about being cold lying on it. The coat looks like it is made of good materials and not cheap like some of the other kids coats we have received. They weren't a size small enough to fit our son (he is 5) but the size we got works great with layers and hopefully it will still fit him next year.

The jacket is great but runs small. My 12 year old wears a size 14/16 and is very average height and weight for a 12 year old. Luckily I bought two sizes. 10/12 is more like 7/8.
