Lights up for several hours, however.

The yarn shines for several hours. Not sure if it will shine that long after being washed like a knit. It is very thin and there are only a few meters in one strand. Also, holding the yarn in my hands, I felt a slight burning sensation in my hands. The company selling this product must disclose full details about the materials/chemicals used in the manufacture of this yarn.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging

  • Working speed

Great yarn! Thinner than it looks

I love this yarn! Judging by the picture, it was thinner than I expected, but it ended up fitting perfectly for a recent web project. I love the texture of the yarn - I was afraid it would look like cheap acrylic but it feels like soft cotton! Like any glow-in-the-dark product, it must first be exposed to light. The resulting glow is nice and bright and a fun surprise to add to a fiber project.

  • Happy so far

Not what I expected

I confess I rated this product with my eyes and didn't do enough research. It's very light and doesn't suit my needs. I decided to mix it up with the usual and crocheted a winter hat but forgot about the glow in the dark effect. If you mix it with a thicker yarn it will become sooooo thin - it just disappears. If you don't know how to work with tiny needles and can't afford to buy a whole batch of the product, don't. Not cost or time efficient, but a cool idea if you decide to make it with a…

Just bought this to see if it really glows and yes , It does. I redraw after looking at photos, but it glows after being exposed to bright light and viewed in total darkness. I'm still not sure what to do with this because in its normal non-luminous state it's just fine white yarn, looks more like white thread and is thinner than anything I use and doesn't seem right to look like when knitted into something looks beautiful with high quality yarn. Have even tried it as an accent in kids hats but

Yes, it glows! for knitting and crocheting

The first picture I have is a comparison of 3 yarns. Leftmost is the worsted yarn, middle skein is a lightweight yarn used for baby blankets and socks, yarn on the right is the yarn listed here. The finger yarn is fine and is used for doily-like lace products. It seemed unfair to me that the negative reviews would complain about the thinness of this yarn when the seller states that this is the weight to the touch. Personally, I am totally enthusiastic about this yarn. I plan to do some projects

It turned out GLOW - patience is required

I sewed slippers for my grandsons for Christmas. I added glowing yarn to the regular yarn and knitted the first slipper. In the evening I put it on the windowsill. The next morning I grabbed him and carried him into a dark room. No glow, nothing, nada! Too bad I thought so I made the next 3 slippers without adding glow yarn. As I went to pick them up to pack, I remembered putting the first shoe back in the window. After removing it I brought it back to the dark room and voila! It glowed…

Pros

Ideal for napkins, snoods.

I got this many years ago. Before I learned to crochet. My friend has crocheted it in snood (like a fancy hair net) for Renaissance fairs and holiday events. THAT'S GREAT. It's soft and an absolute hit after hours/after dark. During the day it looks like an ordinary white snood and at night it looks very cool. To be honest when I wear these I have a small portable UV flashlight in my fanny pack and renew it regularly to keep the glow strong so I can't accurately estimate how long it will glow…
