I find this set of abrasive sponges very handy and useful. I often repair furniture and sponges are always handy and in my opinion they give a smoother sanded surface than a sheet or block. It's also a great value, as singles often sell for $3 or more. They do a great job, I don't see any difference other than the brand name, and they clean up easily with soap and water, although sometimes I have to use a small scrubbing brush to clean them, depending on what I've been sanding. I use these at DIY to sand small pieces of birch plywood and they seem to work great for that. All I really have to do is chip off the sharp edges and remove the shards, and they seem to do it quickly and easily. The blocks are made of slightly soft foam with a grainy surface on the outside. The grain is marked at the ends. You get two each. I'm repainting a few rooms in my house and have a lot of holes to patch. These abrasive sponges are ideal for sanding putty on drywall. I usually start with a very coarse grit and then switch to a finer grit when I get to the wall and final layer. This set contains six different grits and two grits each.
