Description of Grey Pneumatic 1714U Universal Fractional

Made of high quality steel (chrome-molybdenum); thorough and exact heat treatment insures the correct balance of strength and durability. Engineered specifically for use with impact tools, using the most up to date industrial specifications. Made to transfer the pressure from the thinnest part of the socket wall toward the thicker section, resulting in increased strength. Allows up to 20 percentage more torque to be applied than on standard hex impact sockets.

Disappointing Quality and Performance

According to my experience, this hand tool falls short in terms of durability and reliability. I've encountered issues with the material and construction which have caused it to fail under moderate use..

These shock sockets work great. I regularly use 1 3/16 inch.

These impact sockets work great on flange connections; have not had any problems with 12-point slip so far. Update: Installed 4 years old, works great, Only bushing that had to be replaced twice was 1-3/16" as it is the most abused on heavy gears (extreme angle and tight knuckle tolerance). Colleagues borrowed sockets from me when their S***-O* couldn't come to the house or nearby.
