GROHE 14048000 Universal Extension 25Mm Review

This is an original OEM part and it worked great so I have to give it a good review. A star reflects that Grohe charges exorbitant prices for a few plastic parts. Absolutely ridiculous.

Item worked as it should. But for a few screws and a few pieces of plastic it's WAY overpriced. But if the valve box is installed deep in the wall, what can you do?! Grohe knows this and uses its customers to its advantage.

Helps to have 2 people and a good light to install as the blue rails wobble when you try to lower the toilet on them. Otherwise they appear to be good knots and it's nice to be able to line the toilet in place without disturbing the wax ring section.

Very expensive for a bunch of screws and plastic, and the screws were a bit shorter than the plastic so I had to replace them anyway. Seriously, it costs 15 cents of plastic and 4 screws. There is no legitimate reason why it costs more than $20.

So I spent +-$1000 on a state of the art Grohe shower system and while my plumber and tiler did a great job we just didn't have the space and needed this kit. You would think Grohe would offer this reasonably priced kit to support their valued customers, but I have a feeling they knew we were screwed and took advantage of us by charging $110 for 4 bolts and a couple Plastic extensions demanded. For real? 110 dollars? Is this the gratitude we get?

Because the contractor installing the Grohe Smartbox for the first time had enough wall space to mount the Smartbox at any depth, since I usually only go up looking the details to finish kit to make sure they are all there i recommend this company to check the whole depth as they only support the minimum depth adjustment part. And the manual didn't specify that additional parts would be required to install to the maximum depth. So be careful because it is very expensive for plastic parts. Kind…
