DURABLE BUILD: The Aluminum Kick plate composition is built tough in order to sustain long-term use through normal wear and tear. DOOR PROTECTION: Traditionally used to protect wooden doors or swinging doors from unwanted nicks and scratches. SEVERAL FINISHES/SIZES: Kick plates are available in a variety of finishes and sizes, allowing you to find the exact product you need for any given project or aesthetic. DO NOT use alcohol or Goo Gone. This will ruin the finish. Gently clean the residue with warm soapy water and a microfiber dust cloth.

Brass Skid Plate 30 x 6

While the skid plate looks good (apart from a small dent in one corner) there were no stainless steel fixings as advertised. There were actually only 4 small button head brass screws instead of 10 to match the 10 pre-drilled holes in the panel.

Screw heads like oil - where is your quality control

Dear Hillman Group, Please don't buy cheap Chinese screws with heads like oil. If you don't control the quality of your product, why would a consumer buy a product with your name on it? Screw head problems from China should have been solved 30 years ago.

There were no screws

Today I received a chopper, but there were no screws. Looks like someone wanted them more than me and ripped open the plastic bag the screws should have been in and took them. It would be more trouble than good to return all the packaging and the panel as I have to install it tomorrow but of course I was a bit disappointed. Now I have to go to Lowes or Home Depot tomorrow to buy screws.

Shiny bright but it's brass so it's soft.

This is a folding plate. It's shiny brass. But brass is soft, so don't over-tighten the screws. The strike plate will dent where the screws are over-tightened. If you overtighten the screws and brass flexes, don't get mad at the manufacturer and don't write negative reviews. It's wrong to blame someone else because you don't know what you're doing. Do not turn screws with a power tool. Don't forget to pre-drill the holes. Working with soft brass and the screws that go with it requires care…
