I've been switching to PLA for over 2 years

When I first started 3D printing I had no idea what brand to use, but i saw some reviews and decided to give luke a try. Hatchbox PLA is very even and adheres well. My models come out great and I haven't had a single bad reel out of the 30+ reels I've used from them. Their colors are consistently good. No complaints other than sometimes missing the color you want. The fallback is Overture PLA, which I think is the same quality as Hatchbox. Overture was PLA Revain Basics.

Pros
  • 1kg spool (approx 2.20lbs)
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Fragile, poor adhesion to bed, terrible customer service.

I had trouble sticking to the base with this thread. I contacted the company through their website and asked for the best settings for my printer. Instead of responding with the settings that would work best, they asked for a screenshot of my order. What a waste of time! All they had to do was suggest the best settings. Not sure why I have to jump through hoops to get assist. Also, the filament is fragile and will break when my printer returns to its original position.

Pros
  • Thread diameter 3.00mm (dimensional accuracy +/- 0.03mm)
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Great filament, stupid size

This is a great filament and compares well to the much more expensive Pro PLA I've used. Tired of spending twice as much on MatterHackers, I decided to give the role a try. I wasn't disappointed with the results. I just use the generic PLA preset on my Ultimaker 3 with the original Bowden tube and just change it from 2.85mm to 3.00mm. I didn't even slow down my typing speed. It just works. My bowden hoses are about 2 years old so I suspect they are a bit enlarged internally from wear but I have

Pros
  • PLA (polylactic acid) vacuum sealed 3D printer filament with desiccant
Cons
  • Very expensive
