Great for splitting Directv into two displays

I use this to connect my TV and projector to my Directv box. Using the Directv Display menu to set the output resolution to 1080p avoids unintentional resolution changes. Due to the way HDMI works, the connection is re-evaluated every time the display is turned on or off. Turn on a display and after a few seconds it syncs to 1080p. Turn on the other display and the first goes blank for a few seconds and then they both connect properly at 1080p. Turn off one of them and the other will be blank…

Has stopped working after 6 months

At first this seemed like a good product. It worked just like other splitters I've gotten in the past. However, this splitter required its own power supply, which should have alarmed me. In short, within three months the product started overheating and constantly had to be turned off for cooling, during which time I was unable to use the screen. After that, he haphazardly disconnected and reconnected the monitor every time the table moved even a little, including typing on the keyboard…

I bought this in January and it worked well before completely failing in July with no warning. I spoke to OREI tech support and they said to send them the failed unit and they will send a replacement. Unfortunately, they only refund $5 in shipping and seem unaware of the fact that a working splitter is required for customers to use the devices it's plugged into. Shipping is slow for $5 and even now almost 2 weeks after they received the faulty device I'm still waiting for a replacement and…

Good splitter but EDID issues

I have several OREI splitters and find them reliable. They're great for splitting outputs to multiple HDMI displays, but are slightly larger than some competing splitters. The only issue I had was splitting the computer monitor output between multiple devices (monitor, switcher, HDMI extender). When I was using this device, the computer had trouble recognizing connected devices and randomly dumped output on the display (as if nothing was connected). Computers use the EDID to identify the…

Eliminates annoying DHCP and low-latency replication

With 1 input and 4 outputs, this splitter allows you to use capture devices with devices like Playstation 3 that are normally restricted by DHCP. If you're using the Elgato HD60 S+, you know you need to disable HDCP on every console you want to game on, but with this splitter, you don't have to do that anymore. I use this with a 25ft HDMI cable and it works great. This splitter outputs only one resolution at a time, it forms a splitter that can output different resolutions at the same time…
