Quartz Clock Movement Repair Kit - Long Shaft, 28mm - Black Review

Came in loose packaging so my hands were bent. I managed to straighten them, but not perfectly. Super easy to install (instructions included). Attention: This block is ticking! Somehow I missed it in the description. It's okay, but not great.

Inexpensive old watch repair with great collector's value. Fits perfectly. I particularly like the quality. There's even a foil covering the hour and minute hands to protect them from scratches during shipping. Includes all necessary parts (but keep your Dremel handy).

Used to repair a clock that has stopped working. I used scissors to shorten the length of the arms a bit. Works well. It's not totally silent, but it's a fairly faint ticking. The hanging tab on the back is better than the one I replaced so this is an upgrade.

I ordered this part on Thursday and it arrived the next day via Prime Delivery. I repaired a ceramic pool wall clock that was no longer accurate by replacing defective components with this quartz clock kit. The extended stem (28mm) was the perfect replacement for my needs. The match was perfect and took less than 5 minutes to fix.

The knobs are very thin and bend easily during assembly, requiring multiple attempts to put everything together to make it work. The last time I tried to get it to work, the clock was set 10 minutes faster. I calculated accurately enough as I didn't know if it would keep the exact time. Now I have a watch that tells the time to within 10 minutes and I'm afraid to set it because the hand bindings are very bad.

I wish they made a better version of this. The format of the kit is very convenient! But the handles are so fragile that they bend when unpacked. Also, there's a lot of play and it's hard to be sure your hands will actually stay in the spindle, even if you follow the instructions closely. .For example, I don't even use the second hand because it falls off every time.

It's my own fault that I didn't read everything. When I read quartz movement, I immediately assumed that it was an extravagant second hand. It is not. It's a ticking hand. Still good, but for this little keeper, I could sweep up the second hand and put it on another DIY clock. But there doesn't seem to be a manual sweep set with a shaft long enough to work with my DIY clock, so I'm very satisfied. And the price is quite high.

I hate leaving unsatisfactory comments. But this Hicarer quartz movement with 28mm shaft justifies it. Maybe I just misunderstood. I checked the country of manufacture. Yes. The poor little seconds hand couldn't make a turn. So I removed it. However, the entire movement stopped after less than an hour. I ordered a replacement from Revain. I hope the "Second Time Charm".
