You get far more than you pay for!

These are the best value in chisels that I have ever had. The chisels arrived well packaged, and appeared to be of good quality. After unpacking , I began the task of flattening them, and to my surprise, it took no more than 5 minutes each. Each chisel polished to a mirror finish on its back, with minimal effort, and time. They were just as easy to get a razor sharp edge.I haven't had occasion to use them on anything other than yellow pine and walnut, but they have retained their edge as well as…

Pros
  • These are sharp and they do a clean cut.
Cons
  • The blades are not rust-resistant, which may affect their longevity

A good starter-intermediate level set

Came as advertised, and sharp enough for anyone but an absolute expert to get started and do some decent work. This is a must because beginners need to get a feel for how a sharp chisel will cut before having to sharpen a chisel. The metal band at the top of one of the handles was loose, and I deducted a star for this. It hasn't affected function thus far, I suspect they may be mostly decorative, but will use binding wire to tighten things up if it later poses a problem. I opted for the oxford…

Pros
  • Sharp enough for intended use.
Cons
  • The set is not suitable for professional woodworkers who require high-end tools

Astoundingly good chisels for the cost.

I wanted some inexpensive chisels to replace the old general work chisels I use when I don't want to use my 'good' Buck and vintage Sorby wood chisels. I was not expecting much for the price but thought almost any chisels would fill the need. I was absolutely amazed at the quality of these chisels for the price. The wood handles and steel are nicely finished. The blades were ground straight and the edges did not have chips or grinding dings. They, as almost all chisels and planes, need to be…

Pros
  • Just as described. Very sharp.
Cons
  • The blades are not sharpened properly, making it difficult to carve wood

Great value good for me

Great chisels. They are delivered sharp, but will need to be finished off to get that easy "wood shaving sharp”. I have zero complaints. Sooner or later you will have to learn to sharpen your hand tools properly, if you have aspirations of doing wood working. Same goes with the hand planes. So buy these chisels and a set of sharpening stones, you need the stones anyway.

Pros
  • these tools are exactly what I wanted, no complaints.
Cons
  • The handles are too small for users with large hands

Nice product for the price.

I am an experienced woodworker and would probably opt for a more premium chisel set. However, I purchased these as gifts for beginners, and they for that they make a nice set of utility bench chisels. The nice pouch made the presentation as a gift all the better.

Pros
  • Use to carve walking staff. So far so good.
Cons
  • Some users reported that the blades are not straight and causes uneven cuts

Underrated chisels for sure

This is my first set of chisels. I’m a beginner/hobbiest woodworker. I watched so many videos on what to look for in chisels, how to prepare the back side when you get them and to sharpen. These were not mentioned in any of those. However the reviews on here steered my to them. These came already well prepped on the back

Pros
  • The set includes four different chisel sizes that are perfect for a wide range of woodworking tasks
Cons
  • The blades are prone to bending if not used carefully

Great chisel at a great price

Bought these off the suggestion of very talented craftsman, im not disappointed one bit. You cannot get a better tool at this price

Pros
  • These work great. The best set iv ever bought.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other chisel sets in the market

The bottom of this tool is wood I tlthought the bottom would be metal for hammering, the wood will likely split within a few good uses.

Pros
  • i like the way they look and feel, i have used it a couple of times and i dont regret buying them.
Cons
  • The chisels are not suitable for carving hard woods like ebony or rosewood

Max bang 4 the buck

Sharpens up nicely. Decent edge retention. Not a Narex Richter but 4 for half the price of 1 Narex it's hard to beat. Good general shop use chisels.

Pros
  • Chisels are in the following sizes: 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch. The leather bag will not only protect your wood carving equipment, but it will also help you carry it around with ease.
Cons
  • The handles may become slippery when working with sweat or oil

Really great for the price!

The chisels came well packed . Like anynew chisel these will need to be set up. They don't cut straight out of the package. It didn't take long to do this. You can watch a YouTube video by someone like Paul Sellers and learn how to do it. When these chisels are sharp they perform very well!

Pros
  • The blades have been heat-treated to ensure maximum sharpness and accuracy with every use
Cons
  • The chisel tips may become chipped easily with frequent use

You get what you pay for

These are definitely a budget set, it took me about an hour to get the set decently honed, not bad for $17, but I would not recommend for begging as it takes so much work, maybe if you need sharpening practice, I'd recommend a marples or so. The shape is a little odd as well.

Pros
  • They're pretty rough and ready but if you put a little work in they're not bad chisels at all
Cons
  • You get what you pay for, simple & useful !!

Wood chisels for my opinion

Blades are good and rated to hold a good edge. Handles do not have the finest finish, but are perfectly serviceable. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • These are very Decent for the price
Cons
  • The blades are not heat-treated, which may affect their strength and durability

poor initial grind on chisels

The factory grind and finish on these are very poor quality. Would not recommend for beginners.Update: These can be made extremely sharp, it took me about 2 hours per chisel. I mainly work in hardwoods only, mostly red and white oak, I have found that they do hold their edge very well. I will upgrade to 4 stars from 3 for that reason.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The chisels are not suitable for beginners who are just starting woodworking

These are chisels for people who watch Rex Krueger on YouTube and want to give this a try (Like me). They will get the job done. Just remember you get a set of chisels for under 20$. So just enjoy them for what they are and see if you like wood working. For being what they are they do deserve a good rating because it is seriously a lot for your money. These chisels are not for you if:You’re a miserable person. You make a scene in restaurants.Yell at people in the drive up window.Have impossible…

Pros
  • Muy feliz con la compra. Sirve para la talla y el trabajo artesanal con la madera.
Cons
  • Some users reported that the blades are not securely attached to the handles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good tool at a reasonable price.

I'm not a craftsman by any sense of the word. But I do know how to sharpen steel to a razor sharp edge. These chisels, although inexpensive, are well suited for holding a razor sharp edge for the person that knows how to properly sharpen them. There are many YouTube videos explaining this but the best one I've seen is called "32 seconds to sharp" look it up. So that's the good about these, they will hold a good edge. The bad. The handles are not so good. They could be just a bit thicker and have

Pros
  • Good product, price a little high
Cons
  • The set does not include a warranty or repair service

The chisel set that makes you work for it!

Having read the reviews I knew that these chisels would likely need a lot of work before they were ready for use. Even with that expectation I have decided that these chisels are a good test of the owner's ability to sharpen a chisel. If you want a chisel set that is forged and rough ground so you get to do the sharpening and polishing yourself then this is your chisel set. A good set for an apprentice to prove their abilities on, so to speak. I only found one chisel with a defect in the steel,

Pros
  • The beechwood handles are ergonomically designed to reduce strain and fatigue during use
Cons
  • The blades may show signs of wear and tear quickly

Great tools! - my new review

I had never used a chisel before but I needed to put security locks in my doors (to keep my toddler inside) but they also work to keep bad guys outside. The chisel was sharp and intuitive. Got the job done so don't have to worry about my toddler letting himself out and exploring the neighborhood without supervision! Couldn't have done it without this straightforward and well constructed tool set.

Pros
  • The blades come slightly oiled, which helps to protect against corrosion. Each chisel has a black plastic edge guard to protect the tips from damage and to protect everything else in your toolbox from getting nicked or scratched.
Cons
  • The blade edges are not polished, which may cause splintering of the wood

This set offers the most widely used sizes,1/4,1/2 3/4 and 1 inche.Cost vs quality is good for a novice or hobbiest. As with any wood chisel you will need to sharpen them. Its better to think about ,how often will i use this tool?Let that be your guide.HTHDon B

Pros
  • The chisels are forged from chrome vanadium steel, which is incredibly robust and resistant to wear and tear
Cons
  • The set may not be available in all countries due to shipping restrictions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly good chisels for the price.

I saw some other people's were flawed and whole bunch of ways. I happened to get a good set, so only minor handle blemishes. I had to do the work of sharpening them from the factory machine finish to sharpened, polished ,and honed chisels. So far I've had to do that to every chisel I have bought unless they are super high end. The sharpening might be a lot for someone who is new to doing that, but these cheap chisels might be a good place to learn. We will see how they hold up.

Pros
  • The chisels are easy to sharpen and maintain, ensuring that they stay in good condition for years to come
Cons
  • The blades may leave visible marks on the wood surface

Great Set To Learn To Sharpen

These chisels are rough, especially if you order them without a case. I ordered without one and they arrived loose in a shipping bag. Milling marks are deep and every chisel was badly cupped. I spent a considerable amount of time getting the back to the state shown, and have not even started on the bevels yet. It's gonna take some time and effort to get these working. That being said, for twenty bucks this is an outstanding set of chisels to learn to sharpen with.which I am. I would rather ruin…

Pros
  • The set represents an excellent value for money, offering high-quality chisels at an affordable price
Cons
  • The set may not be easily accessible or available in local stores
