Authentic Honda 25610-PLX-003 Dipstick - A Reliable and Genuine Replacement Part Review

Nothing to add to other reviews. It fit perfectly, was slightly longer on the handle side, but the mesh on the working end was identical to my original. I was amazed at how loose my alter was after getting a feel for how it should feel with the dipstick firmly inserted into the gearbox.

Technically this probe fits a 2001-2005 Honda Civic with automatic transmission, but is a fanatical upgrade for a 1996-2000 Honda Civic with automatic transmission. The handle is longer and easier to reach. The rubber seal is of better quality and does not shrink. And all the markings and the length of the part that goes into the gearbox are identical to the original. Can't beat a real Honda, and who doesn't love a cheap upgrade

I bought this for our 2000 Honda Civic DX after a colleague told me that this model not only fits but is 2/3 the price of the corresponding model year. See my attached picture for comparison and you will notice the old dipstick at the top and the new one at the bottom. The only difference is that the top is about 2 inches longer and makes no difference in the engine bay.

I recently bought an old 1996 Honda Civic DX as a top end retainer and one of the first things I did was flush and prime the transmission several times. I found that the original probe was no longer a tight fit to the pipe (extremely lost) and was unable to find a replacement anywhere. I noticed on the Civic forums that someone said that the dipstick fits perfectly on newer models (2001-2005). I was skeptical, and even though Revane yelled that this part wasn't for my '96, I bought it anyway…

I'm writing this review to help those like me who are frustrated because neither the picture nor the description clearly shows which dipstick (engine oil or automatic transmission oil) is in it is a Honda vehicle. Also, the part number is different from the original part that is being replaced. So this item is an upgraded replacement automatic transmission oil dipstick and this dipstick is perfect for my 2004 honda civic. (Since day one in 2004 the "original" oil dipstick has always felt loose…
