Short-lived - Towbar Accessory

Purchased this item in May. Found my turn signal/brake light not working on the right side. I checked the fuse in the car, it hasn't blown. I decided to disconnect the adapter and just connect it to 4 pins and everything worked. I will buy another 7 pin adapter and see if it works? Bought a new adapter from my local hardware. It was actually $0.86 cheaper than that Hopkins adapter. Trailer light works perfectly. And I received all my purchases in less than an hour. Maybe it's time to break the…

Great product at a good price.

I am a U-Haul dealer who collects trailers and moves them around the property. My old truck didn't have a 4 pin spade connector. This item works as described. In fact, I now have them in my office ready to sell to anyone who needs them. I think it's great that I can test customer lighting with LEDs. Many customers say it must be a pendant, I just used it and then it worked. I tell them: no, the problem is in your car. I don't let the trailer leave my property without electricity. That's my neck

  • Easy install

7-4 plug trailer harvester tester

I had a different adapter and was having trouble blowing one of the trailer light fuses and suspected wiring on my new trailer. It turned out that one of the diodes on the 7-to-4 adapter was shorted, resulting in a blown fuse in the truck. I now have both spare fuses for the truck trailer wiring and an extra 7 to 4 pin adapter. The great thing about this particular adapter is that it comes with LED indicators that show the truck's wiring is working properly and makes diagnosis easier. Great…

LED lights are great indicators that the car is sending signals.

My Explorer had both types of connectors but my trailer had the old 4" type and one side didn't work. The test showed power on the wire but the trailer lights were not working. I assumed the fault was because the Ford 4-out was thicker and I had to work on making the connection. I decided to buy a 7 to 4 output adapter to see if it would help. This works for both the 7-pin explorer connector and the 4-pin trailer connector. The LED showing the action of the turn signals was a cool bonus. While…

Immediate Error Codes - '12MB - Bad?

2012 Merc GL350. Replacing a stolen adapter to get the system working again. Any headlight switch in the "On” position: Both the right and left trailer lights keep flashing - all cause 2 trailer lighting faults on the dash like the turn signals - brake light and turn signal. Without the headlights on, it works properly for about five minutes and then stalls at the left turn signals. MB can be PITA by error codes. Some of these correctly turn on the trailer headlights even with the DTCs…

Perfect for Tesla Model Y!

Tesla Model Y factory connector with 7-pin connector for trailer lighting. Personally, I've only seen a 4-wire connector. In order not to be surprised if I had to tow a trailer I bought this but wasn't 100% sure it would work. I found this to work incredibly perfectly. In fact, in the photo I've attached, the Tesla connector cover must be open when this adapter plug is plugged in, and I was shocked that the Tesla factory connector cover blocks this connector so it can't be accidentally pulled…

Perfect fit for 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

I connected this to my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with FACTORY trailer wiring, in other words it has the big round connection that all factory tow kits have. He had it for a few days but I thought it would be a good idea to include some real photos of him as the only photos accompanying this item are complaints and I am not sure if they are accurate descriptions of this item. It works as advertised. Running lights, turn signals, brakes and LED turn signals light up. I've attached a few photos…

It doesn't seem to go very far into the exit of the trucks.

My '98 F150 comes with a 7 pin outlet from the factory. I connected a 7 pin connector for my 4 pin trailer lights. A few years everything was fine. I recently hooked up a trailer and NO LIGHT! I didn't know if it was my truck's wiring or if it was a trailer. I decided to order the new PREWIRED lights from Revain which had magnetic bases for the lights so I could easily remove them when not lugging. This turned off the lights on the sides of the trailer, where they could easily be hit and…

Hopkins Trailer Harness Adapter Works Like a Clock --Jun 2019--

My 2011 Honda Pilot has a seven pin round trailer harness connector. The trailer I wanted to pull had four spade terminals. Bought for $10 and it works like a charm. Seven plugs on a standard sized vehicle and four spade plugs on a trailer, so installation is not a problem. The connector cover on the vehicle snaps into place and holds it in place. The adapter has indicators that show that the connection is possible. They blink when you check each blinker etc. Note, however, that theoretically…
