🔌 Hopkins 48595 Flat Mounting Bracket for 4-Wire Connection Review

I like it because I did my job. But I had to make some modifications to attach it to my wiring harness. I had to dig out the plastic on the inside of this mount to allow the thick rubber arm that attaches to the fork dust cap to fit all the way in. It also didn't have a secure clamp on the strap, so I cut off a few pieces of rubber to make the fork thicker. Holds after conversion. I can push the fork hard and it doesn't move. This is a great cheap starter block for your needs.

We installed a Drawtite clutch on our 2017 Toyota Highlander. It comes with a tongue welded to the crossbar to secure the fork. The cable set I used only had a flat 4 that I snapped into place. Somewhat functional, but not the best solution aesthetically. Found and ordered. My harness was a different brand so the shifter was different than Hopkins and didn't match. This is a great product to 'finish' your wiring and give it a professional look! Other reviewers have mentioned that this mount doesn't take all four-pronged spade connectors, and I found this to be my case as well. While my RV's cable connection fit into this mount, my towed car's cable connection did not. I bought this bracket as a set with Hopkins Simple Car Wiring Kit 42475 Plug-In (this part number is for a Jeep Liberty KJ but I wouldn't be surprised if all Hopkins Plug -In Simple harnesses have the same 4-pin connector).
