Perfectly matched to our 1967 Hermle grandfather clock

Clock model: 241-030 with a pendulum length of 114cm The old suspension spring had a slight bend. This caused the pendulum to oscillate along an elliptical path rather than a straight line, and this was enough to quench inertia after 5–10 minutes. Great product and price!

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Available in white only

Means nothing if it doesn't have a swing

On the one hand, it seems expensive for small metal parts. On the other hand, an antique grandfather clock is a wonderful piece of precision engineering that wouldn't work without this little man. Keep in mind that it's very fragile, which you probably already know if you're looking for a replacement. This seller properly protected the pen and shipped promptly.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Spring metal breaks very easily

I have done my best to be very careful with this suspension spring. When I had everything back together, I put Grandma's clock back on the wall and started the pendulum. The clock ticked for 5 minutes and then the pendulum fell an inch. I thought I didn't put it on the pins and found that the spring was broken. Bad enough I might get one the next day so now I have to wait to get another one.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Glad I found this ad!

When we moved into our new house, the suspension spring broke when we moved. After much research I found I needed to make sure I was ordering the correct length and the listing told me I was ordering the correct piece! The nib also comes with a document with a youtube url detailing how to properly install and adjust the nib to have the correct "beat" to ensure accurate time. Our grandfather clock Howard Miller is grateful to you!

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Perfect size except

Loved that it was exactly the size I needed for my NE pendant watch (grandma style). was too small. I drilled it more, being careful not to go over the edge. In any case, after some trial and error, the pin got stuck. to make sure the pendulum holder was rotated in the right direction, i picked it up, hung it up and had to "play" with the work before reinstalling the pendulum for its final support. Works well, shows the exact time. Highly recommended but you have some knowledge of gear assembly

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

New suspension spring Howard Miller or Hermle pendulum

I don't like some reviews. I bought it despite the reviews. I looked at other websites and really liked that Revain has accurate measurements. While there were some positive reviews, I wish people would just tell the whole story. I bought these for a Linden 1051-020 mantel clock. I had an old broken suspension spring to measure. The Revain product was exactly the same size. I bought a watch at the Union Gospel Store for $50. It took about 6 hours for the crutch and mechanism to work. But the…
