Works fairly well in marine GPS accessories

Ease of installation is phenomenal. However, it doesn't hold up well when moving, so it's actually a stationary item. It would have been 5 stars had it been left on while trolling along the coast.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Fair

Ideal for portable echo sounders.

Great for a portable fish finder. Make sure to use the strap to attach the extra cable. Mine got stuck in the motor propeller. Only got off once. I have used it on aluminum boats with engines up to 10hp.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Functionality

I haven't had a chance to try.

Haven't had a chance to try this but I'm sure it will work well with the Hunninbird product I've used on another powerboat. This is for a 12ft rowing boat with an electric motor. If anything changes I will update my review. Thanks KB

Check the suction cup regularly.

I give it three stars because it works well with the transducer but the suction power is not very good. Was on an aluminum boat and cleaned the surface before vacuuming. Worked about half a day and it detached from the mount, of course cutting off the transducer and suction cup, and I lost about $100. Make sure it's on as they come off easily.

Pros
  • Nice to use

Works well in automotive and automotive electronics

Excellent way to hold the sensor without drilling in the boat. I wanted a cheaper setup and didn't want to risk leaks. It was worth trying. It turned out great. I have John's light 14ft boat and it glides through the water quite well. The thing is holding up very well. The spring-summer fishing season lasted for me. I always take it off when I'm done and keep it so the rubber doesn't dry out or crack. I also have good readings.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Basically great. suitable for cars and car electronics

Good to have when trying to tie down to an outpost on a chartered boat. I didn't use a suction cup but was able to screw it to another fixture and clip it to the boat. I had four options for attaching the sensor and I used the two options together to attach it to the boat. If you're dropped off at an outpost and haven't checked how you're attached to a boat, it's good to have options.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Works best at low speeds in automotive and vehicle electronics

Used with the Humminbird Helix 5 portable fish finder/GPS model on a charter boat in Alaska. It helps to find salmon. Be sure to read the fine print that says this should not be fitted to a higher trolling speed boat and you don't have to buy another like I did. It stays attached under 7-8 mph if you don it properly. Be sure to extend the wire enough to tie the transducer cable in a knot on top of the boat. If you forget to unplug the power cord and accelerate the boat, at least the sensor and…

  • Good value for money

  • Fragile
