Perfect fit for my 2008 Hyundai Entourage

My brake light was on the whole time. I made sure the bumper holding the switch was still intact so I replaced the switch. I was able to get under the dash and replace that without taking apart anything else. Not easy, but doable. It could be a recall point, but it wasn't worth the time and hassle of taking the car to the dealer to have it done. Do it yourself.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Secret

Who would have thought that one cheap, simple detail could fix everything!

If my ABS and ESC burn for years, it takes a few hundred thefts to diagnose and fix the problem. I only ordered this part because all my brake lights didn't work but my tail lights did. Installation took a full minute and to my surprise it not only fixed my bulb problem but also the ABS and ESC bulbs that had been on my dash for years.

Pros
  • Years of probation
Cons
  • Slightly dented

This is the same part that came with my 2006.

This is the same part that came with my 2006 Sonata GS. The original brake light switch has failed. The brake light stayed on when the pedal wasn't pressed and my cruise control stopped working. This gave the following codes: C1511C1513C1611C1616C2402 Most of these were wrong in my case. Replacing the brake light switch solved the problem and the CE light went out after a few hours.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Fixed ESC lamp, '07 Hyundai Veracruz

There is nothing mechanically difficult to install with this part. It's just awkward to get over the pedals and behind the steering column. You have to press the brake pedal while trying to unscrew the nut with your other hand. BUT, this part works like a champ! Fixed my issue where the ESC light came on and I was having trouble getting the car in and out of park. Who knows what the store would have charged for that repair. I fixed it myself in 20 minutes for about $7.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • old

Didn't fix my ESC OFF light issue (but it helped the Hyundai dealer)

Purchased from amazon.com to fix the ESC OFF light coming on while driving my 2007 Hyundai Fix Sonata. This replacement part did not prevent the ESC OFF light from illuminating even though the switch had the correct Hyundai part number. The auto mechanic told me to get the part from a Hyundai dealer. I did this and the Hyundai dealer switch fixed the ESC OFF backlight issue. If your Hyundai or Kia ESC OFF indicator comes on while driving, purchase a brake light switch from an authorized Hyundai

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • working

Cheap and easy solution to disable ESP

Worked great on my 2005 Hyundai Tucson. I had an issue where my ESP would turn off sometimes. It started out gradually, only stalling once every few weeks, but then it got so bad that just stepping on the brakes would stall it, even when the car wasn't running. After some research this switch appeared to be the likely culprit and it is a cheap and easy to replace part. Also, I remembered that many years ago Hyundai had a recall for defective brake light switches, so I figured they only needed…
