Description of πŸ”Œ iJDMTOY 10-Second Time Delay Relay Module: 5-Pin 12V 30A SPDT for Automotive Lighting

1 piece 5-Pin 12V 30A SPDT cube-style Relay (size: 1.65" x 1.25" x 1.25", the time delay relay box is taller than regular relay box, please see picture-7 to confirm the size before buying). Allow approx 10 seconds delay to turn on the light. Good for most car/motorcycle retrofit lights that do not have switch or want to delay the turn-on time to protect the battery or circuit/fuse, perfect for high power lighting applications such as LED light bar, LED work lights, HID system, etc. Direct plug in to most 4-pin or 5-pin sockets (since the delay relay is polar sensitive, if it does not trigger the light up, please flip the input wires around, see demo video).

Universal fit?: Relay

It's not universal and why can't I find a suitable one for my truck? Too busy selling junk. It won't fit the 2004 F250 so don't buy this junk if that's what you want!

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • Long delivery time

10 second delay is exactly what I need.

Works as advertised, used with HID suspension on a 2009 Goldwing. Helps my battery on start-up as the low beams come on after ten seconds instead of when the ignition is switched on, reducing battery drain. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Compatibility

Didn't work for me - switches and relays

Didn't work at all. Plugged into a working relay socket and nothing happened (waited 3-4 minutes and still nothing), replace with a normal 5 pin and the light will work as it should again. Not sure if it was just a bad block or if they were misadvertised. Got my money back through Amazon with no problems.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not bad but...

THAT DOES NOT WORK. NOT RISK!

I was hesitant to buy this due to a previous one star review. I also seem to have the short end of the stick and the relay doesn't work at all. I measured the resistance between 86 and 85 and got a value higher than 120 kΞ©, it should be between 60 and 120. Doesn't matter. blocking doesn't work at all.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Protection

08 Audi A4 3.2L Quattro

Doesn't fix flickering lights but fixes the error messages you get. It just fixed the error message I kept getting, which was helpful. But I realized that I really need to buy an LED conversion strip for my wiring to get the LEDs to work.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

HAM Time Delay

This relay helped me. I wanted to prevent my Kenwood D710 from turning off and on again when I first start the car and this relay helped. Even with my radio connected directly to the battery, my Toyota's battery is small enough to have enough voltage drop at startup to cycle the radio off and on again. With this relay connected to the ignition switch circuit, when I push the start button the car starts and after a delay my radio turns on with clean 12V DC. Good.

Pros
  • Slim Design
Cons
  • No Power

Works like a charm UPDATE

I installed them on my Dodge Ram 05. I switched my headlights to projector bulbs with HID bulbs. I have to leave the headlights on for the parking attendants because they don't know I have a separate headlight switch and it's bad for them if the HID flickers on startup. It was the perfect solution, the truck started and within 10 seconds the HID turned on, no more power surges. It fitted into a standard relay connector and I had no problems. UPDATE: lasted ONE year. Now it just blinks like a…

  • Absolutely amazing!

Perfect for my needs

I used this to delay the turn on of a secondary amplifier connected to the speaker outputs on a 2016 Subaru. The car sends a nasty loud bass through the stock speaker wiring when the car is first started. This works great for delaying turn on and solving my problem, but for some reason mine allows an instantaneous voltage drop of 6-7 volts until it switches to 12 volts at ten. seconds. So if you plan to use this for a stress sensitive element, this could pose a problem. As long as you need at…
