Added a few more years to an outdated PC

This is a great upgrade for my old X58 based workstation. I hate buying a new computer just for updated interfaces. This old thing is still a 6 core Xeon that works very well. Comes with power cord, which is very convenient. The connectors weren't enough in my case, so the SATA power cutter was a handy add-on. Plugging in power is a huge bonus to plugging in devices. I have a USB 2.0 Blu-ray drive that would misbehave if not plugged into the correct connector on the motherboard, and even then…

The guide was useless, installation was difficult but the card works

The card works well and I recommend it, but the installation was needlessly painful as some have mentioned here. I installed the card on a Dell Optiplex 790 running Windows 10. The first thing to do after receiving the card is to take out the instructions and throw them away. You are almost entirely wrong. You must connect the card to a power source on your computer, otherwise the driver will not install (the instructions do not say so). This was a problem for me as the only SATA power…

USB 2.0 speed 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬.

It just doesn't work yet. I get USB 2.0 speeds no matter what I'm doing. I installed the drivers that came with it, downloaded the newer drivers from the Fresco website, and checked the bios for settings. nothing works. Windows 7 Ultimate (64) HP Compaq 6005 Pro Microtower If I find a way to fix this I will update my rating. Installing this card messed up ALL my USB drives, so this is worse than I thought. Basically, I paid you so I could break my own computer. Relax…

KEEP IN MIND: 2 of 7 ports work

I purchased an Inateck Superspeed PCI-E to USB 3.0 7-port expansion card - 5 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back panel des Express February 29, 2016 I installed the card and drivers and connected 2 USB hard drives, which worked fine. My mistake was that I didn't verify that each USB port was working. A few days ago when I bought another USB drive for my Plex server and all other ports (5) were down when I connected the hard drive. I tried the USB stick and the phone cord to see if I…

Absolute rubbish good for USB port cards

Listed as "Choice Revain" and promised next day shipping plus 7 USB 3.0 ports, what could go wrong? Didn't arrive next day and if that's Revane's choice for the computer card then Revane should get out of the computer parts business. We also managed to have only two ports work at USB 3.0 speeds. I bought this to replace a card a couple of years old that was occasionally losing connection so I figured a new one might be an improvement but unfortunately I was wrong. At first the computer did not…

This card is a bunch of junk. I've tried and tried to get it to work and some days it works, the next day it keeps making noises like it has something to do with it. Permanent error. Drivers are terrible. I don't know if the card even works half the time because I had to buy an external USB. The hissing is driving me insane, it keeps saying something is related, but it's not. Also, you can only have 2 slots to plug something else into, otherwise you'll constantly lose connection with other…

WIN10 Users READ THIS

This card works with WIN 10. I originally rated this product 1 star because it didn't work with my WIN10 computer initially. However, after receiving phenomenal support from the vendor, I got it working. The package includes a CD that will direct you to the Inateck website. There you need to find your product to download the driver. At the time of posting there were 2 drivers listed but neither listed an applicable OS so I didn't use either driver. The rationale for my decision was that it was…
