This lantern looks very well made. It's very bright and durable. Suction cups are enough. I'm going to buy another one for my dad's boat. On the opposite side of the on/off switch is a black plastic circle that peels away to reveal a hole with a threaded brass insert for use as a second suction cup mounting option. That's my reason for 5 stars. Most of the reviews I read complained about the suction cup, but no one seemed to notice the other mounting option. Hope that helps.

I use this for evening/night paddling with both the kayak and the paddle board. It's easy to put on and seems to provide enough light for visibility.
