I bought a new IRIScan Book 5 WIFI and downloaded the software The selection didn't even match my purchase Then I got a message saying they had matched mine problem and I should have a response from them in two days or it may take longer. If you plan to use this scanner for anything other than paper scanning, I recommend using your trusty flatbed scanner instead. I've personally tried scanning book pages, magazine articles, and anything that had an image I wanted to capture. The device is not configured to capture a full page of books, magazines, etc. The scanner window cannot capture an image of a book page - about an inch and a half is lost through the binding - no matter which way. Although the scanner works, the software also works. A tutorial video on how to get the most out of your scanner would be helpful. There is a learning curve to get good results. The scanner's design is not ideal for scanning the inside edge of a book. A narrower track would have helped, and larger rollers could have coded the path. Not exactly what I expected, but a good option for items I can't use the feed scanner for. Unfortunately, it takes a technique to avoid skewed scans and I still haven't mastered that technique. Scanning too fast will not capture the image accurately, scanning too slowly will give you more time to accidentally distort the image. Images due to uneven scanning. Bought two scanners side by side for testing for documents/maps/books. These are IRISScan and TaoTronics scanners. Tested on two sheets of paper. One was printed as a negative with a black background and white text. Another regular one with a white background and black text. Settings for both - the minimum of what I need. 300 dpi, black and white, PDF. I didn't check other settings because a big problem prevented me from proceeding.
