It's really good, but DAMN hard to use. My 20 volt Lidgid lithium ion drill won't spin it because it doesn't have enough torque. The "screw thread" on the head bites so hard that the drill's bite is too big for my drill. It works with a corded drill, which has a lot more torque, so it's definitely intended for more commercial use. With enough power, it goes through the bolt like butter in a fraction of a second.

Pros
  • Full length heat treated for extra strength
Cons
  • Little things

This is what it is, a drill that works

This is a drill that does what it promises. We built our own house and I used this bit for all of the wiring and it worked great. I especially like the rough tip of the screw, the bit didn't move, it just started drilling where I put it in. I've only used it on a 2x4 but it seems just as sharp as the day I bought it. Would definitely buy again but could buy something a little shorter. Once attached to the drill, it became a bit long and difficult to fit between 16" studs.

Pros
  • This product is made in China
Cons
  • I don't remember

2 of 2 drill bits Extremely dull

I bought two of these drill bits to use with my Hole Hawg when running electrical wiring in my new home. I've used Irwin bits in the past with good results and it seemed like a good deal. My old M cutter lasted about half the project (about 250 holes in the studs/beams) when it started to dull, so I switched to one of the new Irwin cutters. It was so blunt from the start that it could hardly drill a hole with significantly more force than my old, worn drill bit. Then I tried another new Irwin…

Pros
  • This product is very durable
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
