For the money this is probably as good or a little worse than the stand my Celestron came with. Especially when working at high magnification, the entire plane will shake, move and warp as you move the block up and down. This little stand is great. This is very useful for focusing on what you are seeing. It's much more stable than holding a microscope camera or the lame little mount that comes with the kit. I think that's the point! Round dials on the side make it easy to focus. A button on the back allows you to tighten or loosen the microscope holder.
