There is a trick to install them easily.

Some complain that it takes three hands to install, and that's true unless you're doing one thing. Take the washer and nut that goes under the clamp, line them up and glue them to the clamp. You can then place the clamp under the tool box and truck rail while you use your other hand to thread the bolt into the nut. Once this has started, remove the tape. It's still tricky with two wrenches in an awkward spot, but doable.

Not Impressed With Truck Body & Tailgate Accessories

It would be great if you had a third hand. While you're working under the bed rail you can't see because your tool box is installed there. Slide the bolt through the mounting hole, then hold with the other hand and install the "j" bracket, washer, and locknut. You will need them all in your hand at the same time. A third hand helps here. An ideal product if you only thread one hole through the bracket. Two pieces with two hands. EUREKA

Due to the body design of my 1990 Silverado truck I was not able to use the front mounting points on the front of the tool box, but 2 of these clips hold the box very securely. I am very happy with these clamps and would highly recommend them if you need a quick, reliable way to attach a tool box to your truck without drilling or damaging your…

Great solution for replacing J hooks on crossover toolboxes

Okay those are bee knees. I installed my truck tool box on Wednesday, they arrived Saturday and my J-hooks were already loose even though I tightened them enough to deform the aluminum box. Anyone who's installed a truck toolbox knows how lame the J-hooks are: you overtighten and warp the slot in the toolbox. In addition, they only touch a tiny point on the edge of the bed rail. They also protrude into the air in the side channel of your tool box and take up space where a tool would otherwise…
