These are great winter boots - nice and warm and my 4 year old can put them on by himself. The only downside is that the fabric upper isn't waterproof or even water resistant and the rubber bottom isn't very high. So when we have fresh snowfall I'm more than happy to put them on my kids. Your feet stay warm and dry and you can play for hours. The downsides only show up when the snow starts to melt or we have rainy, slushy sleet like springtime. My daughter usually wears size 8 sneakers so I took size 9 to wear thick wool socks. They fit as expected. They are easy to put on and take off compared to other snowshoes. Inside it is very nice and warm! To be honest I don't even think I need thick wool socks with it. I love the materials! The quality is generally excellent. They were perfect for our Utah ski trip. My kids have had a variety of Kamik boots over the years and overall I'm a big fan of this brand. This time I chose these boots mainly because of the brand awareness and the reviews and regrettably regretted it. The boots are still very well made, well insulated and keep my children's feet warm.
