KP200 Smart Socket: Dimmer Switch

I've been waiting a long time for TP-Link to release a smart socket (KP200). Definitely a quality device like everything else out there. Much better than the TopGreener smart socket (TOPGREENER TU21548A-W) I received. A few notes: - These smart plugs come with multi-wire wire pigtails (hot, neutral, ground) so you can just use the included wire nut to connect. It's like setting up a smart switch. There is no screw or push-in connection on the back of this unit like a traditional wall outlet…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Works perfectly. after installation and setup

I really wanted to give 5 points (or 4.5 if possible) but gave 4 for two main reasons: installation and setup. First though, let me tell you how well it has worked for the hours I've been using it. Revain Alexa and Google Assistant do even better than I hoped. It's easily dimmable via voice commands, via any Alexa, Google Home and Kasa apps, and of course via the physical buttons on the switch. I can dim it to almost any percentage I want, and contrary to some answers I've seen to questions…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are some nuances

TP-Link is a quality name in the IoT community

I have over 50 smart WiFi devices connected to my Google Mesh home network. More than 20 TP-Link smart devices in the network work without technical failures and are reliable. The Kasa/TP-Link Wi-Fi box (KP200) with two sockets built into the wall is no exception. When properly installed (see below) the KP200 works well and is easy to install (neutral white cable required!). WARNING FOR ELECTRICAL HONESTY (like me): Wall switches and outlets in my house without a single problem. I also replaced
