Keeper 06052 Mini Bungee Cord Review

These aren't the toughest bungees in the world, but they're up for some moderate duty. The hooks are pretty flimsy, so be prepared for them to bend or break if you overload them. While I was aware of the length, I wasn't prepared for it to be so thin. Reasonable considering the price. I bought these to attach items to a bike rack but they just don't fit. That's not the fault of these cables though, which seem decent. I give them 3 stars as it is an "average" rating. They would have received a 4 if the reversed rope hadn't interfered with the metal brackets. They are what they are and I know I will find a use for them.

They have amazing stretch. They're cheap and look the part, but hold a lot of power. We actually used them to tie down a tarp when traveling over 30 miles on a windy day. They have held up great and worked great. I originally bought them to hold bikes stationary on a car bike rack. They have worked brilliantly for this purpose as well. The hooks aren't big so won't work for large projects, but I love the fact that there are so many cords you can string them together for extra stretch.

Once upon a time you could go to your local big store and buy a set of these small elastic cords for a reasonable price. No longer. At first they disappeared from retail, but I was able to order them online. Then they disappeared from the side. I was very happy to find them at Revain and ordered a small quantity to test the quality. The quality is top notch and the price makes this product very valuable. I have ordered more and hope they will remain available in the future.

These devices get four stars because they are good at a low price. (If price is an important factor, they probably deserve five stars.) However, I would like to point out that the bent ends of the cables do not fit completely into the base of the hooks like in the photos. The hooks seem pretty strong for their size. I don't know what their limitations are, but I think they're at least the gauge of the cable, and I think the cable will break before the hooks bend (ie straighten).

I was quite skeptical about the processing quality of such a cheap bungee set, especially since you get 8 pieces. I use them to keep my shower curtain out of the way when swimming (so I'm often exposed to hot water) and also to secure the tarp outside (again, getting snagged in the rain). None of these bungees have deteriorated or rusted, and they still retain their elasticity well. I bought a bike rack to transport the bikes my husband and I bought in Florida so we can safely transport them home to Michigan. I bought this bungee as an added safety measure to ensure the bikes were secure while doing a few hundred miles on the freeway at 60-70. When they arrived I was very disappointed. What can I say. There aren't many reviews for such items simply because they do a simple job. I will list some things that might help. They are thin and short. Think elastic round lace about 10 inches in length. The hoods are also thin. No need for thick heavy hooks for a skinny bungee. The hoods are made of metal and are uncoated. scratch anything they come in contact with (no rubber tips or anything). I used this on my bike on my way home after the original purchase.
