The ratchet is fine BUT THE HOOKS ARE REGULAR STEEL AND WILL RUST! Ordered for use on a yacht - NOTES MUST SPECIFY HOOKS ARE NOT STAINLESS STAINLESS - CONCEALED.

I bought them to tie my boat to the deck of a freshwater sailboat. They work as expected out of the box. Who knows how resistant to UV and corrosion.

A stainless steel ratchet will do, keep the hook end away from rust stains. Why did they make it cheaper? Cut it off and put your stainless steel bar on top.

You can buy two of these for less than the price of a Krash Army Kavinci Latch or Blowsion! Do it yourself.[.][.]I drilled a second hole in mine to keep the latch from turning while it's up. Coat it with Hydro-Turf to protect your shin/knee.

Have 6 of these in the last 6 years outdoors in the summer months - store shade sails. There is no rust on the ratchet but the black strap has turned gray after 6 years in the sun. Surprised it lasted this long and still works. Highly recommended and will buy again.

I've looked everywhere and wondered why it's so hard to find a stainless steel ratchet. I was happy to find her. I had to replace a different brand hook strap because I needed a 15 foot length. Everything worked fine with this ratchet except for the color shift, which is a silly complaint.

Purchased to attach kayaks to a boat. We live in Key West, Florida so everything rusts in 2-3 weeks. Not these! They're still going strong a year later! I ordered a second set thinking the first set would fail like our previous brands but they are still being kept just in case.
