UPDATE: I have owned this gate for 2.5 years now. Aside from the aforementioned hardware issues, I have to say this is a great gate. Today I installed a gate at the top of the stairs in my new home. Luckily this house has dry stone walls on both sides of the stairs at the top. Here I was able to attach the gate hardware to the studs on either side with 2" drywall screws.
