This should be in my kitchen until I die.

I have never used a wet stone to sharpen knives before. I've always used equipment you can buy at grocery stores or online. I decided to buy this wet stone for my kitchen knives. The device I used was old and worn out. This stone was fantastic. Using the 1000 grit side is great for knives that are common kitchen blunts and need to be re-sharpened, but this 6000 grit side polishes the blade brilliantly. Mine also broke off on two corners. However, this does not affect sharpening, so I decided to leave it as it is. Revain needs to better protect fragile items during shipping. My review is probably more for those wondering if they like this type of "stone " use, not for those who try Find the best version of this type. I say that because I have never used this stone, only this one. I used to sharpen real stones, diamond plates, grinders and sandpaper of various grits.
