As you can see I installed them in my pot and pan cabinet replacing the cheap European rails. I'm sure they will be easier to use in new setups where you can use jigs and be sure everything is straight. It took me a while to get it right because my wardrobe was a bit crooked. There are some good woodworking forums that have given me advice on proper alignment. If, like me, you are not very experienced in this work, I strongly recommend reading a little.

There is a learning curve to upgrading to Knape & Vogt sliders. Using a short magnetic level to fix the cabinet is the most important part. The K&V sliders are great and the soft close is perfect. Best in the Industry but a HUGE hassle to install in existing cabinets. If you think you can convert your cabinets into a soft close system yourself, make sure you understand that it will take HOURS and possibly days to get close to your expectations and even then, it probably isn't what you want. I chose these because someone recommended Knape and Vogt as a quality premium brand. I had to go with the half price ones at the local store. The bolt will bind in certain places, the bolt locking mechanism will fall apart if not perfectly aligned. The soft close mechanism will not pull out unless it is perfectly aligned. I bought these to replace the new guides my kitchen builder supplied. All drawers work well except the trash drawer which was misaligned and the cheap slide didn't work properly. So I bought this KV guide to replace and routed everything properly so it lines up perfectly. This KV guide worked great for about 2 months. I made the case that holds the drawer and it doesn't meet IKEA flat pack standards which is CNC machined or something like that. However, I had no problems with the old slides. I bought this pair to replace a traditional drawer slide. My kitchen cabinets have a traditional American frame construction, not a European style. For a US installation, I strongly recommend using the 8404 front mount brackets, which must be ordered separately. You'll also need to order the 8402 rear mounting brackets.
