Much better than a claw hammer or side cutters

Used to remove nails left behind by the finish I replaced. Nails that I couldn't pull out were easily clipped. Gets into much tighter places than a hammer.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Safety

The perfect tool. for side cutters

Great tool. High quality. These are old and genuine pliers, nothing makes them better. I used it to pull out side panel nails that broke where they were so rusty that a pry bar broke them. The pliers did an excellent job of pulling out the 3 inch fairing nails.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Nothing included

A bit pricey but amazing

So I had the same old Stanley pliers that I've been using for years. When I saw this beauty I decided to replace my old/smaller pliers. They are very well made, heavy and easy to use. This is my first pair of Knipex and I love them.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Negative

Quality Tool: Diagonal Cutters

This is my first Knipex tool and I look forward to buying more. The pliers are a quality tool and move freely so you don't move your hand and try to 'break' them like Kline's tools do. Ideal for pulling/cutting nails.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Must have in every toolbox

To be used very often, there is nothing better for pulling out old nails. This is similar to the one I've used for the last 50 years but got lost when I moved. Perfect replacement and brand new. I think it will last 50 years like the old one I had.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Meh, use 61 01(/02) 200 instead of

Even within the nominal cut range, they were frustratingly hopeless. They are more expensive but I strongly recommend buying 61 01 200 or 61 02 200 (comfort grip version) instead. The last two tools easily cut 20 times the wire/nail cross-section of the 50 01 180, including hardened nails/wire (which completely outperforms the 50 01 200), with impressively low forces and virtually no backlash.

Pros
  • Simple installation
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Essential in every toolbox

I use them a lot, there's nothing better for getting old nails out. This one is similar to the one I've used for 50 years but lost when I moved. Perfect replacement and brand new. I think it will last 50 years like the old one I had.

Pros
  • Pliers
Cons
  • Expensive

I think I could clip my nails better than the cheap pair of Huskys I have; They didn't. Both work well as nail pullers, but only cut stud or aluminum nails with ease. So I ordered $50 high leverage KNIPEX, just received them and they cut nails with ease. There may be cheaper high leverage cutters out there, but I needed them immediately.

Pros
  • Diagonal Cutters
Cons
  • Upgrades

Mech, get these instead 61 01(/02) 200

Even within their rated cutting range they were disappointingly hopeless. They are more expensive but I strongly recommend buying 61 01 200 or 61 02 200 (comfort grip version) instead. The last two tools easily cut 20 times the wire/nail cross-section of the 50 01 180, including hardened nails/wires (which completely exceeds the 50 01 200), with impressively low forces and almost no backlash.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Nothing Here
