💎 Knipex Tools 7001160 Diagonal Cutters: Precision Cutting at its Finest Review

I'm sure I preach to the choir when reviewing Knipex material as we all know it's the crème de la crème. It doesn't disappoint. The only problem I've had with anything from Knipex is that some of them have a pretty stiff hinge. You don't come with this problem. Doesn't wobble, but opens easily.

Yes these are bulletproof side cutters as expected but I'm a bit disappointed with the craftsmanship of the hinge, it's too tight and inconsistent throughout the range of motion. I have no doubt they will be used by a homeowner for a lifetime, but they don't meet my preconceived idea of Knipex quality standards.

I already have a few side cutters, most of them Knipex. I got this because of the different head and handle style. It performs just as well as their high leverage models. The blades are very sharp and cut cleanly. While not as small as the mini sizes, this cutter is still very useful for tight spots or hard-to-reach cuts. This is a nice addition to my toolbox.

I bought these to replace a couple of old knives that were becoming dull. Compared to the old pair they cut a lot better but I can't say they are better than any other new cutters. But they are well made and run very smoothly. I got them on the recommendation of a mechanic friend of mine who uses Knipex tools. As a German I suspect they will outlive some cheaper Chinese instruments.

These are the highest-quality side cutters. Unsurpassed. The attention to detail is perfect, the cut edges are clean and sharp, they match perfectly without letting any light in. I tested it on a piece of paper and a napkin and it cut very cleanly and crisply, it looked like it had been cut with scissors. Smooth operation and enough tension for comfortable one-handed operation. There really is a difference, do yourself a favor and just try a few, you won't want to use anything else.

I bought these knives and two other tools I needed. I was a little surprised when they fell apart in a plastic bag as if the seller buys them in bulk. Not that the packaging matters, but I think it speaks volumes about the quality. They appear to be second or wholesale items, so they don't get any extra attention. I cut a lot of copper wire, many cuts a day around 14 AWG. I was looking for a pair of handy and precise clippers to make my day easier. Simply perfect. I bought these cutters because they are strong enough to be used for some tougher materials like smaller springs, nails or cotter pins, but flat enough to be used for zip ties or wire/wiring as well.
