It's great. The aluminum at the end is nice and smooth and doesn't cause the yarn to break. I'm glad I found this one with a soft grip. As others have said, there is NO space when you slide the amount of yarn down to the handle. If I have trouble with this, I carefully remove some of the rubbery material with a razor blade.

I love these hooks. I knit rugs for the homeless out of plastic bags. These hooks are the largest metal hooks I've found and they work great with plastic. I will be buying more of these hooks to have on hand for others who are helping me with the homeless sleeping pad project.

When I saw that the handles on these hooks resembled the Clover Soft Touch handles I was very hopeful. I was in the middle of a 2 skein project and was struggling to keep up due to severe arthritis.
