Best road bike bell for cycling

I ordered this bell for my Cannondale Synapse road bike as I occasionally ride on a paved bike path frequented by strollers and small children on bikes. I found that pedestrians couldn't hear my shout "Left!" so I decided to try shouting instead. I like the design of this product as it is elegant and understated. It doesn't take up much space on the handlebars and even has a nice cut-out underneath for cable management. The bell installs quickly and easily and seems loud enough for my purposes.

Not for Quasimodo. Best Accessory

Sunday drivers who think they need the sonic power of a church bell might not like this little one. I do. I ride my bike 14 miles 5 days a week. New York law requires a phone call, so I wanted something light and stylish. I almost never touched the last call I had. I find that my voice is much more effective. The only time I use this polite solo xylophone is when I'm passing another cyclist and we're both going slow. Passing the Navy Yard at 25-30 mph, I give an unsuspecting pedestrian a "yo"…

I really wanted it to be cool.

The thing is beautiful! Unfortunately, I need something that will actually make people aware of my presence BEFORE I get there, and that's not happening. I tested it on a very quiet railroad track near me and people didn't seem to notice at all. After comparing it to a good quality proper "standard" bell, it's pretty clear that it's at least 10 times quieter and rings for about half or less the ringer duration. Some other notes: the lever is weak but we are adults and we can handle it. The bell

The Big Luxe is definitely what you're looking for

tl;dr The Big Luxe is quite loud with a clean, cutting tone. I like it! The one to get is definitely the large suite. I've read professional reviews that indicate the small deluxe bell suffers from a design flaw that causes the firing pin to bounce and dampen resonance. The result is an unassuming punch! Sound. Classic bells, both small and large, use a plastic mallet that doesn't ring as loudly as metal and isn't as durable. Customer reviews of Revain tend to align with these professional…

Excellent ding-dong

With increased traffic on local trails due to Covid-19, it became necessary to add a bike bell to warn other trail runners of their impending doom. I tried rubber chicken first, but that approach created several problems that were more trouble than they were worth. While the chicken squeak was quite satisfying, it can get a bit overwhelming on a long drive. Since there's no really good way to silence a chicken other than grabbing it tightly around the neck, tying up the entire arm to choke the…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Nothing here

Spent a week on this call. For some background, I'm a regular road and mountain biker. My trips usually last between 2 and 6 hours. I've always had a bell on my mountain bikes and road bikes. I like the design of this call but it's almost useless to me. When driving on the road at 15 mph, the bell is virtually inaudible to drivers more than 8 feet away. I believe this is because the bell is a lower frequency and doesn't have a punchy sound when struck by the firing pin. This seems to cause the…
