Two of these didn't protect my Cannondale bike in a locked garage. Thieves could easily pick locks by bending a metal U-bolt. They didn't bother trying to find their way. Also, I had combo reliability issues: a) the combo wasn't spinning freely and b) the combo was resetting itself. I bought the first lock 4 years ago. I started sticking. There was some rust. I figured it wasn't Kryptonite's fault we had a rainy winter. I bought another lock a few years ago. In less than two years I discovered that a small sliding part had fallen off. Without this small detail you will not be able to open or lock the lock. I bought several of these locks and put the same combination on them. All worked normally at first, then suddenly two refused to open further. I had to cut with a grinder to free the bike. Read other reviews, some had the same problem. The open button is a joke. It's a tiny protrusion that requires little effort and isn't ergonomic at all. And that little ledge can easily bounce off. You don't have an emergency key and you tend to get stuck and stuck even if the combination is right. I was initially apprehensive about purchasing this lock based on some of the negative reviews but then decided to order and am glad I did. There are basically two types of negative reviews. here: one of people whose bike was stolen while using the lock. That is clear. But in the end, all castles are just a deterrent. We know it.
