You pay for what you get

Discussed and checked all the frames and decided on the Kuat brand. Security is the first thing that struck me as it incorporated 2 separate lock cables which made it a lot easier than the old model which only had 1 for both bikes. The locks and the supplied pin lock are locked with the same key. They provide 3 keys attached to a nice little bottle opener. Assembling the rack took no more than 10 minutes. The convenience and simplicity of this shelf is great. The bike is very safe and does not…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are defects

Rack liked, but noticed a number of small nuances.

Last year I brought back the previous version of the NV2. I needed a strong bottom rail for my TRI bike. What fascinated me the most was the bike rack. I liked the stand a lot, but I noticed a few small nuances that I think could have been done better. Unfortunately, I was hit from behind and the frame bent and broke. So I had to replace it. In the old version there was no stand. Without thinking twice, I bought a new one. The updates in this version of the rack are OUTSTANDING! Kuat solved all

DO NOT install the luggage rack on the Tesla Y model (equipped with a drawbar) UNTIL you get the HL2105 (free from Kuat Service)! I made the mistake of attaching the brace to my car and THEN realized I could NOT remove it because the keyhole was blocked by the DC connector used to power the trailer's taillights. Somehow you can't turn the locking mechanism far enough to have enough room to insert the key! I contacted customer service and they suggested I cut the 1/4" thick bar, which wouldn't…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options

Kuat NV 2.0 with tool holder - perfect for bike transport

Kuat NV 2.0 is robust and heavy! It is designed to carry 2 bikes, each 60#. My electric bike is 50#. Assembly instructions are good. STILL, I recommend watching a YouTube video of the KUAT NV's capabilities to see how the Kuat turns and how it mounts the bikes. Then assembly is easier. You will most likely need 2 people to install the 4 legs and they are clearly labeled A, B, C, D. I installed mine into the car's hitch first, starting with the main stem, so everything was lifted off the ground…

Premium for premium

Yes, Kuat NV 2.0 is expensive. However, you are transporting several hundred/thousand dollars on your bike(s) in a multi-thousand dollar car; so I think it's a bit unimportant. Right? About me: I like to think that I am an avid biker. but I am not. I ride for fun with my family and on Saturdays I try to hit the road. My wife and I ride fat bikes. I ride an XL frame and she rides an M. When I first started looking for a new rack, I needed a few features: no suspension, compatibility with fat…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I was looking at the various stands available today. I have visited many bike shops in my area to see them in person and also did a lot of research online. I have a DH bike that weighs over 50 pounds so I don't need racks that weigh 45 pounds per bike. The NV 2.0 is £60 per bike. I also liked the quality of the product. Looking at online reviews, or actually handling it over the weekend, I realize it's designed for serious use. I'm a car freak and have worked with cars and metalwork for a…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
