Will not fit the hole in the rim of the motorhome door

I bought this to replace the door knob on our new 5th wheel mounted motorhome. the existing door handle prevents the door to the hall from being opened fully, so that it does not touch the fittings on the window in the hall. Seems like an easy fix to get rid of the bulky doorknob as it is said to work with existing openings and hardware. The handle doesn't match the screws, and there were, and the mechanism provided is too big for the edge hole. Perhaps the interior doors of an RV are different

NO. Do not do that. Attention, the ratchet teeth do not fall out!

I bought this for my bathroom pocket door, I trimmed everything perfectly. Thank goodness it's universal because when the deadbolts on the first lock wouldn't open and I ordered a second lock (just in case the first one was defective), THAT deadbolt didn't work either. I even compared them by taking them apart and putting them back together. I ended up ordering a completely different brand and not only did it fit all the door and side cutouts I needed to make, but the other brand's privacy/lock

Light load, weak assembly.

These locks are weak and break easily. A few years ago I had a sliding door installed and the existing hardware was beginning to fail. What we liked about our old lock was that we could lock the door from the outside and close it carefully so the kid couldn't get in. We have been doing this for many years with the first set of locks. I chose this one because the design was exactly the same and it didn't work after a week or two. Mostly due to an attempt to block it, as was the case with the…

Poor design, hook in deadbolt in door jamb

I knew I was taking a chance due to the low price and previous lackluster reviews but this pocket door lock - rubbish. The retractable door handle is decent in theory, but feels flimsy in use; The latch actuator also feels weak and loose. After installation, the lock looks fine, but the problem arose when I checked the lock; It is mounted in a latch that is inserted into the door jamb. The problem seems to be that this lock requires the deadbolt and door to be PERFECTLY aligned, but the nature…

A little fiddly to install but latches securely

The problem with traditional square pocket door hardware is that the hook is so tiny it's easy to accidentally pick up a 'locked door' to open ." door by pulling hard or lifting. This is more important - it looks like a traditional latch, but when fully extended a notch comes out on one side, pressing it firmly against the plate. You need to turn the lever counter-clockwise until it stops, it doesn't "click" for it to be fully locked. Otherwise you can just open the door. A few things keep me…

Pros
  • Includes 2 3/8" latch backing
Cons
  • Speed of operation

Works but requires maintenance.

Excellent but moody door lock. I bought it for the bathroom in the hallway with a sliding door. I am currently taking care of my mother who is recovering from surgery. I wanted to install a lock as a measure to prevent me from stepping on her rather than to provide complete privacy because if she falls and really needs my help I want to be able to get in easily. The door I have was already pre-drilled for a standard doorknob and this lock can be opened from the outside with a flat head…

Pros
  • Round shape eliminates the need for a new groove in the door
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
