Big Shock: Shocks

Got these shocks for my '68 Camaro. These kybs ride a lot better than dampers that cost three times as much. Excellent value for money and quality.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Available in White Only

Excellent shock absorber quality

Needed a cheaper shock absorber for the rear of my 1972 VW Baja. I recently bought a longer version for the front, then bought this pair for the back. Both are excellent choices for Baja "pleasure".

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Fits

Check lug dimensions before ordering

Shocks work great but were not an exact replacement for my '63 Nova, had to modify lower lug with bushing and buy new bolts. The bolts on my car are 1/2", the bolts for the new shocks were 5/8". I also had to remove 1/8 inch rubber from the bottom of the shock to fit the perch.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Problem

Smaller than what I took off

The shocks seem to work fine but they are only half the diameter of the Sensa Trac shocks that I removed and the Sensa Trac shocks that I used 10 years ago. Let's see how durable they are. My first experience with KYB shocks. But so far they have improved the ride and seem to be working.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Doesn't matter! on Shocks

installed these kyb shocks on my 2000 P71 Crown Vic, got 127,000 miles on it, what difference does that make, car is nice to drive again, fitted kyb shocks up front too and It's a new car again, wait. Cornering, driving over bumps, everything has improved by 100%. The price was the best anywhere, ordering and receiving was quick.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • so far so good
