1998-2001 E46 3 Series Sedan Pre-facelift Front Matte Black Kidney Grille Set (Left & Right) Review

This grill exceeded my expectations. Not only is it beautiful, but it also arrived 4 weeks earlier than expected. It fits flush after a little trimming of the hood latch (the photo shows a factory cut, so we had to cut in new grilles, although it's not noticeable). It's a very strong material so I'm not worried about it breaking. 10/10 recommend!

Cheapest option available that looks like OEM, to get even closer you can put tape on the grille parts, mask off the exterior chrome and obviously cover with SEM Black Finish or Transtar Black Finish how to save the article if you don't like it. But in their natural state they fit perfectly and look good, remember they are meant to be pre-facelift (slightly more rounded shape instead of a wing grille).

The grates arrived about twice as fast as estimated, they were very well packaged, secured and boxed. The installation went smoothly. I suppose it's possible to break the clip, but if you take the time to install them carefully none of the clips will break. It took me about 12 minutes to remove the old grilles and install the new ones, although the old ones almost fell out so it was very easy to remove. I like them and recommend them.

The grills look pretty cool right out of the box. I ordered matte black and they look great but THEY DON'T SEAT DIRECTLY. You will need to adjust the hood clamps when the grilles pop out again. This may be due to design and dimensional defects. Not to mention you have to cut the edge of the hood latch to keep the grille from retracting. Come on! fix it. I managed to make it fit but it was a pain in one.

Cheap goods. It "fits" into place, but when you compare it to the original manufacturer grill you can see how poorly made it is. It doesn't snap, pulls back easily, and is really just a temporary fix for the missing grille. I'm disappointed. Replacement on the left, original on the right. You can see how it doesn't fit properly (and doesn't actually snap into place like it should). I have a feeling it's coming soon :(

1999 328i e46 sedan passenger side fits great and is definitely more durable than 22 year old stock plastic. The driver's side does not work right out of the box. There is no recess where the hood latch lifts to open the hood. I really don't want to attach $22 parts just because your company was too lazy to design the product the first time. Chrome kidney grilles arrived on time. Perfect fit for my car. Measure your old grille and check the size of this item on Revain before ordering to make sure it will fit. When installing, insert the upper part and then slowly insert the lower part, but do not force it or hit it with your hand, otherwise the side clips will break.
