Good things are best in art paper

When I received my paper I was surprised by its glossy surface. How the hell would watercolor paint look on such a specular surface? But I was very surprised that the color held up well and the color contrast against the white surface was more intense than I expected. I think it's quite expensive, but still beautiful.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Weak fixation

Yupo "Paper " Rules!

This was my first experience with alcohol ink so I started with this small pad. I have so much fun and find Yupo "Paper" fun to work with. It's thicker than I expected and I'm very careful not to touch the surface of the paper until I'm wearing surgical gloves lest I smear the paper with oil from my skin. It's amazing to see the ink spread across the paper - try it!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Weight

Perfect size for my greeting card background

I took alcohol ink courses and was strongly recommended Yupo paper, although smooth surface photo paper can also be used. This Legion Yupo polypropylene notebook is the right size for me as 90% of the greeting cards I design are A2 (5.5" x 4.25") or A7 (5" x 7") . An A2 sized birthday card that I made using Yupo paper and alcohol ink to paint the background. (The sea creatures were painted and cut out of 80-pound card.)

Pros
  • White Polypropylene Notepad
Cons
  • Doubtful

Difficult but worth a try!

REALLY different for the job. I love to stamp, make postcards and use my own copies. At first I was a bit disappointed with this non-paper. But as I drove on, I found it funny. I printed some Art Impressions on it, embossed it and started copics. As you know, Copics are great markers for shuffling, but using them on Yupo paper was different. I would set my first color aside and then mix with the next, but if I wasn't careful it would all blend into a new color. Eventually I realized that I had…

Pros
  • Smooth surface pH neutral plates
Cons
  • Something different

You really can "do it " with Jupo!

The amount of incredibly cool things you can do with Yupo never ceases to amaze me! I'm so glad Yupo Corporation finally decided to sell their great product to the masses - just a few years ago it was very difficult to get even a small amount of this great unofficial paper. It remains the same amazing interface but the world can experiment with it. And we have an experiment! Yupo is considered synthetic "paper" - but does not use trees. It seems to have an indefinite shelf life - at least I…

Pros
  • Dimensions 5 x 7 inches
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
