Leviton 5266 C Industrial Grounding Black White Review

I ended up introducing a 10 ga SJOOW cable as part of a long extension cord for some of my high current devices. Although it was tight, I was able to slide it in without pinching or buckling. The interior layout of the connector body is superior to the same product from Hubbell as it has less space inside and cannot safely accommodate the SJOOW 10ga cable.

I bought this to connect to a Xantrex automatic AC circuit breaker. The connector came apart easily, easily reassembled. I had to put on a 3x loupe to determine which screw was actually silver and which was gold. Appears to be connected correctly. it handled the thick power cord with ease. Good buy. I would give it 5 stars if I could easily tell which terminal is gold and which is silver.

Certain terms critical to a safe and reliable connection are not shown. But really, it was just common sense, so I made sure it worked well. My wires were 16 gauge, 15 amps. It's hard to tell if you're pinching the tiny body of wire when tightening the connecting bolts, and they warn you against it. Also, this is by no means a waterproof plug once installed - much less waterproof than a regular indoor power strip. Just don't confuse hot and neutral! The ground was green and obvious.

Very durable industrial grade connector. Made from very durable nylon. The fork body definitely won't break when stepped on or run over by a wheelbarrow. You need a machine to break it. Very easy to install as it is well designed. The strain relief is explosion-proof. I have several of these in my wood shop and they are great. I really can't say enough good things about the black and white Leviton connectors, they are the best. A suitable socket for this is 5269-C.

Bought 3 to replace the ends of 3 extensions that had been misplaced. from once to many times. It looks like a great high performance fork and works great. The downside is that when you opened the box, one of the screws that secured the connector to the cable was missing. I checked a few hardware stores and couldn't find a suitable replacement: either the screw was too big for the job but the head fitted well, or the screw fitted but the head was too small and would eventually pop out.

My plug came with the wrong green ground screw. The screw was too short to hook the metal clip holding the wire. I had to run to the hardware store to buy a longer brass screw of the right length. A 15 minute project turned into a 2 hour project. Yet another company where quality control blew out the window when it went, you know where. I will say that after getting the correct parts he actually made a solid repair connection on a 50 foot 10 gauge wire extension that had a bad ground connection
