Much better than the best floor pumps

I've been using a regular swing arm pump for years. Anyone who has done this knows the problems. The worst ones for me were 1) trying to install a lever chuck on a completely flat tire (it forces the stem into the tire cavity, sometimes making it almost impossible to install) and 2) not being able to remove the chuck from the stem without appreciable losing air. Also, I was constantly concerned about the force being exerted on the stem. It's decided. This pump has none of these problems. The…

So far so good: Floor pumps

I really like the quality of the pump and the head mount fits my racing bike very well. I used to use a tiny hand pump and did a good forearm workout trying to get 110psi and my tires were almost always <80psi. Now my blood pressure is consistently above 110psi and I don't have to go to LBS as often to use their pump. The part that connects to the pipe is the ABS PRO head and it is a very strong connector. It features a micro-adjustment knob that allows you to deflate in a controlled manner.

Improved version of the already solid and reliable pump

I'm a road cyclist so I need a pump that pumps 115-120# reliably. I have an earlier version of this drive steel base that I bought a few years ago, as well as this version with a large dial and angled fill valve. Firstly the screw on the fill valve is the same as the old version as far as I can see and is a real pleasure to use compared to clamp pumps on the fill valve. These screw-on valves fit snugly into the tire's pre-valve and will not burst if pressure exceeds 50psi. The o-ring has held…

Presta option not working

What a bummer with this pump. I was looking for a quality tire inflation option. But the front of the chuck doesn't work, I suspect the connector is designed to be threaded rather than clamped. It's hard to tell, but I think when you screw the chuck on, it re-tightens the nut on the presta valve to keep air out of the tube. My workaround for this was to use the Presta adapter for sanding and then use the side of the chuck for sanding. Finally it worked. Let me just say that the $65 pump should…

Works well with Presta valves but with a caveat.

This is a very high quality and durable pump. The inflation hose is the longest I've seen on a floor pump and allows you to inflate bikes that are still attached to my hitch rack. People don't seem to like that you have to unscrew the pump head every time you use the pump, but I bought this pump specifically for this feature. All of the clip pumps I've tried put a lot of lateral force on the valve stem when you attach them, and it usually takes two hands to remove the head after inflation. As a

I wish I had bought this sooner

I'm new to cycling: I didn't have one as a kid. Even though bikes are "easy" and inflating tires is "super easy," I've struggled with inflating the tires myself. No matter who I asked, the YouTube video I watched almost always started with a version of "so easy, la la la presta/shrader, psi boom done!" to the point where I think I would even pay money to watch a video of someone gently and gently explaining what a bike is like to an alien child. The guys in the store were always nice, but they…
