Separated at the seam. for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

2001 Odyssey: Installed April 2016. Worked well during a long drive (June-July) then the van was in the shop for a month (transmission). Now, at the beginning of September, the passenger bag has torn at the seam. It is 3 months of use before it breaks. A replacement bag costs more than half the cost of the entire kit. Sounds like a bad batch considering there have been at least 3 other recalls recently with the same issue. UPDATE: Contacted Air Lift and they sent us 2 new airbags which haveโ€ฆ

Product and Installation Overview

We have a 2002 Honda Odyssey Minivan. Great delivery truck. Just needed a little help with rear sag/leveling and handling with a full load of kids, 4 bikes on a Thule bike hitch mount and a Thule Atlantis roof rack. We purchased the Air Lift 1000 Model 60740 Air Spring Kit (for a 2002 Odyssey) from Revain. Good service. We went to Four Wheel Parts at 3383 NW 167St in Miami for the installation. They were awesome too!. Get on and off in less than 3 hours with air valves neatly installed in theโ€ฆ

Great craft kit. Works as advertised.

Includes everything you need including simple instructions. I had to lift my Honda Odyssey quite high to drill holes in the bottom of the spring mounts. I highly recommend having a good set of stands for this setup. I took my time and it took me just under 2 hours to complete the installation. I'm towing a trailer with a retractable tent. Before installation, my van would pitch almost 3 inches with the pop up tent attached, but now it drives straight when towed. Recommended to friends who alsoโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Damaged

I installed them on my 2003 4WD Honda Pilot. Installation was excruciating as I had to remove the springs and take out the stock bumpers. This process is not difficult, it just takes some time. If you are doing this on a pilot like mine, be sure to loosen the brake hose retainers so the brake hose has enough slack to not put pressure on the brake hose when you lower the A-arm to remove the spool. I inflated both bags to 20psi and towed a trailer with about 300 pounds on the drawbar. The rightโ€ฆ

Works very well and for the money you can't go wrong

I have installed them on my 01 Odyssey and on several clients cars (I have a Honda garage). My foreman has them on his Pilot 03. I've had them for over 6 years and still have them on all machines. I converted my Odyssey into a camper van with a bed inside. I've vented them when driving a fully loaded van so we don't sag in the rear and scrape on rough roads, and of course it feels a lot better over speed bumps. When it's time for bed, I deflate to level the van. I just keep a small compressorโ€ฆ

Simple but effective load balancer

We toted a large drawer in our 2000 Honda Odyssey for two years and by then we had four kids and all our gear. in the RV and van, the van squatted pretty low. We installed Air Lift springs this weekend and towed the camper over 500 miles and the springs have a huge impact on how the car handles, especially on the freeway. They were enough to keep the rear at normal height even under load and to handle well even on rough roads. Installation Tips: - Installing an inflation valve behind the fuelโ€ฆ
