Lifesaver: shocks, struts and suspension

Supported the sagging rear end of my 96th Pathfinder and allowed me to tow a 300 lb trailer. It took longer to dismantle the air ducts than to lift the car and stuff the bags between the coils. It was NOT necessary to remove the springs or drill holes for the springs (contrary to the instructions). Helpful Tip: Heating the air duct with a halogen work light made it MUCH easier to attach the sling to barb fittings. They can be installed in less than 60 minutes.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Ideal solution for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Love these airbags. They fixed my suspension issues. My 2003 Pathfinder sagged slightly in the rear and when I loaded the trailer the headlights were pointing skyward. Never! Plus, storing 5-10 pounds of air in your pockets will make your daily ride that much more comfortable. This is not explained in the installation instructions, and the panhard bar is the bar that runs diagonally from the truck floor to the left-to-right axle. Some people claim this installation took 1.5 hours, it took meโ€ฆ

  • Good product for the price

Terrible in every way

An airbag blew up after less than 2 months of normal driving, I kept the air pressure at 6psi and never got the chance to use it with my trailer. It's impossible to get through to the company. I have emailed them about 5 times in the last month and have not received a reply. I called and was on hold for hours and didn't move in line, also left a few phone messages and never got a call back. So I'm assuming there's no guarantee as I can't contact customer service. This is just a terrible product

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • boring packaging

Great idea, big question on durability

I bought these for my 2001 QX4 to stiffen the rear of some of them and also as an off road aid to provide enough ground clearance. They really help on both counts, so I was very happy with the functional perspective. However, durability is questionable. I installed it in April 2010 and in September of that year the left one stopped holding air due to a bag rupture. The replacement was quick enough, but since they are in the coils, fitting them is a serious job. Fast forward three years and theโ€ฆ

Runs like clockwork 2nd time

My first airbag purchase was a little difficult as they didn't fit my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder as advertised. The problem was that the existing 1/4" hole in the base of the coil spring seat (from where the airline accesses the bag) was too small (the line is also 1/4" in diameter). Traveling with limited tools and no fixed address at the time, I delivered the bags when visiting a friend while traveling. I decided to install them as time was a factor. Initially they worked great and I was veryโ€ฆ

2004 Toyota 4Runner with OME Lift Coils 895

My new camper trailer caused the rear of my 4Runner to squat enough that it lifted the front a bit and made the steering a little blurry. Because the 4Runner goes up 2 inches with Old Man Emu (OME) coils, the kit listed for the 2004 4Runner is not true to size. I emailed Air Lift about my application and they responded the same day with measuring instructions to help find the right kit. I sent them measurements of the inside of the coils that night and got a reply the next morning as to whichโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Very convenient towing retrofit

Took about an hour to install. I didn't even have to remove the tire on my 2001 Pathfinder. Just lift it up and I was able to slide it between the spiral section of the rear spring. I connected the air hose to the bag first and inserted the air hose into the hole at the bottom of the spring seat and I was able to draw a line from the left side and tie it to the other (driver's side) air hose with the supplied air hose T. The hardest part was in connection with a tee. The included tee is plastic

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Great (if you follow the instructions)

Installed an Air Lift 1000 kit on my 2002 Pathfinder that had a lot of sagging rear spring. Replacement springs were ridiculously expensive, and these airbags were less than half the price. With just two adults and a full tank, it only takes 30% of the maximum rated pressure to get her croup up and proud again. Interesting, I always knew mine needed some attention, but it took other similarly unfortunate Boy Scouts seen on the street to persuade me into action. Installation was easy for meโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
