I just installed a new LiftMaster in my two car garage and immediately ordered an 828LM Gateway. (The Revain was about $15 less than the LiftMaster). I followed the step-by-step guide suggested in the review mentioned above and everything went smoothly. I will only mention one point about registering a Myliftmaster account (via a computer) that caused a bit of confusion - during the registration process a device, its serial number and place name had to be added. Outstanding functionality with care

This gateway allows the connection of a MyQ equipped Liftmaster or Chamberlain garage door opener. MyQ uses a proprietary radio signal and this gateway is a device that you plug into your home router to connect MyQ garage door openers to your local network so the MyQ app can control your doors. Works great with the base model Liftmaster Garage Door Opener

The device itself is very easy to use with the app. The hardest part is setting it up. Nowhere in the instructions is it explained how to turn on this controller with your stupid garage door openers. It's actually pretty easy once you understand how these opener devices work.
